Ray with another dinger. Dude is on fire.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Biloxi Box Score

It was home run night in Biloxi on Thursday. And while the Shuckers out-homered their opponents, they did not make their HRs count like the Chattanooga Lookouts did.

The Shuckers had four HRs - all solo shots - and those four runs were all Biloxi could manage. The Lookouts had three HRs, but scored six times.

Corey Ray, Troy Stokes Jr., Jake Hager and Clint Coulter all went yard in the loss. Thomas Jankins gave up six runs in five innings - including three HRs.

Batting

Corey Ray: 2-4, HR

Troy Stokes Jr.: 1-4, HR

Jake Hager: 2-4, HR

Jake Gatewood: 3-4, 3B

Clint Coulter: 1-4, HR

Thomas Jankins: 5.0 IP, 7 hits, 4 ER, 0BB, 4K, lose (also surrendered 3 HRs)

Brad Kuntz: 3.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 1BB, 2K

Miguel Sanchez: 1.0 IP, 2 hits, 0 ER, 0BB, 1K

Notes

Trent Grisham returned from the DL today, going 1-4 in his return to the lineup.

With two HRs and three runs, the 5th inning was the big one for Chattanooga.

AUDIO via the Rattler Radio Soundcloud: "The Beloit Snappers and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers played for over 3–1/2 hours in a game that saw nearly 400 pitches. The Snappers beat the Rattlers 8–7. Chris Mehring & Kyle Lobner have more on the game/endurance contest in the Papa John's Pizza Postgame Podcast. Hear Matt Erickson's thoughts on the game and his update on Gabriel García. Pat McInerney and Devin Hairston also have comments from the clubhouse tonight."

Garcia left after an HBP on the left hand. Erickson updates at the 3:30 minute mark, sounds like he'll be OK (day-to-day).

As is often the case, the "notes" section at the bottom of the link is as informative as the game summary itself.

Box Score / Game Log

As you read at the Choi-related link and in the summary, huge night for Keon Broxton.

17 Sky Sox players saw action. If you're going to digest a box score in full this week, make this the one (Burnes, Espino's debut, Wilkerson in the pen for this one, Barnes).
