Milwaukee Bucks 2018 - 2019

homer

I've been looking at a few different things and I'm still a little confused. So basically I've gathered that the refs screwed up, but I'm not sure which of the 2 possibilities it is, which wasn't helped by Miller's portrayal of the the refs explanation as 'we were right. 24 second violation'.

What I'm confused about is whether the refs were wrong to put the clock back to the 3.5 and it should have been time Lopez touched it minus .2 or were they wrong just wrong about thinking Lopez caught it thereby taking too much time to shoot, but the clock was put to the correct time. Or was it both?

To me, it looked like Lopez tipped the ball just fine, but I could be ok if the refs want to say something like it looked like he lifted it, sorta like in volleyball, as opposed to a pure tip, but then should the time between the Giannis tip and Lopez "catch" be gone?

Remember what Yoda said:

Refs got it right. Look closely, and Lopez didn't exactly tip it. It rested just a bit on his hand. One of those you could call either way and be right, depending on your definition of "tip."

Nope. 2 minute report says Lopez tipped it and it shouldn't have been a shot clock violation.

Bucks toyed with Wolves last night playing with maybe 50% of defensive intensity they displayed against Boston. With no KAT, Bucks easily had many better on-court options than Wolves at all times.

Rose or Teague would look real nice as the 7th or 8th piece of this Bucks team right now (ignoring contracts and the rest).

Think I read Bucks had only won 43 games or more 4 times in their history which was kind of shocking to me... they had that at the All Star game this year! Team heading right direction with Horst, Bud, and Giannis!

I think it was they had only scored 140+ like 5 times in the last 30 years and they've done it 4 times already this year.

In the past 30 years (since 88-89) they've won more than 44 games 5 times -- Not including exactly 44 twice.

In their 20 years before that as a franchise, they averaged 49 wins a season, including their 27 win inaugural season.

Mirotic just went to the top of my free agent wish list for next year. Long, athletic, and can drill the three!

I agree. I'm already convinced the Bucks should try very hard to re-sign him and he's only played ~35 minutes lol

You can tell he isn't completely in rhythm with the offense yet. Giannis is definitely looking for him to get 3s up though which is kinda fun to watch. Mitortic looked solid vs Minnesota when they started switching. He was getting switched onto a smaller offensive players and was able to do a good job which was encouraging, especially since he is still getting back into game shape.

Special season, I'm going to relish every win. Horrible start vs Bulls, my brain is hard-wired for them to mail in a loss and live to fight another day. Nope, put the hammer down for another cruise control win , without Giannis of course.

Without Hill and Brown too.

Yeah I must of read it wrong. I was born 87-88 season so they were still good first few years of my life but outside of that, since 91-92 mediocrity has been strong theme. Only 6 winning season in past 27 seasons prior to this year. 2 of the 6 have been in past two seasons. 00-01 & 09-10 are really only two impressive seasons since I’ve even know what basketball was.

2-way players are severely undervalued. I think this is a great deal. It probably nixes any notion of signing an outside free agent, but that was pie in the sky anyway. No way they were going to renounce their free agent rights to Mirotic, Bledsoe, and Khris for a slim chance at Durant/Kawhi.

This also makes it easier to keep the team together, because his starting salary is about $7m lower than his cap hold (a salary cap placeholder to keep his free agent rights) would have been. That means they may be able to retain Brogdon, Mirotic, and Middleton without losing their right to use the Mid-level Exception salary slot on Lopez or his replacement. They would have been cutting it close without a move like this.

Obviously Bledsoe's agent had no say in this, because it's very atypical of him. Bledsoe clearly wanted to stay.

I agree that the Bledsoe contract seems fair. What I don’t know is how does this affect the cap with respect to resigning Brogdon, Lopez and Middleton. I assume we can’t sign all 3 but I hope they have money for 2?
