What an embarrassing loss. I know Bud likes to let guys just keep shooting, even when they're cold, but at some point during an 0-12 night, someone has to tell a guy to stop chucking it up there. Just has to. Snell and Lopez went a combined 0-16 from 3, and that really just can't happen.

No you don’t tell them to stop. You shoot when you are open. It’s kinda the whole theory behind this top ranked offense.

I was more ticked at the defense.

Nitpicky -- Bench didn't play well at all tonight. Snell, Connaughton, and Dellavadova were all -14 or worse in limited minutes. 2nd unit has to at least try to hold serve while they're in the game.

The good -- Man, Giannis is playing at a stratospheric level right now. He's MVP this year if he keeps playing like this. For years we've been lead to believe "if you have one superstar and a good team around him, you can win a title". Well, we're at that point. Bledsoe, Middleton, Lopez, Brogdon is a really nice starting 4 to support Giannis.

Obviously wish Henson hadn't gotten hurt, but he'll be back hopefully before the end of the season.

When you have a career night like Lopez did and go 8-13 it tends to lead to overconfidence and the false belief you can do that every time.

There's also the law of averages. He hit his first one the next night.

Bucks Trade Rumor

Coach Bud like Kyle Kover-probably the best pure shooter outside Golden State, he has other flaws.

Kover $7.5/2 years

JR Smith 14.5/2 years

for

Delly $9.5/2 years

Snell 10.5/3 years

S Brown 1.5

or

Wilson 2.5

It would get rid of 3 years of Snell for 2 years of Smith and give Coach Bud another shooting assassin. Maybe add a 2nd rounder? Would Cleveland do this. Smith has been a team problem this year and the change would do Cleveland and him some good.

I just found out that Smith's 2019-2020 season is not guaranteed. This is a deal I would make if Cleveland would go for it. Shedding Snell gives us chance to resign Middleton, which is almost a must.

I can't imagine a 2nd rounder is going to overcome a $20 million difference, would be great for the Bucks for sure. I like Brown but again he is a second rounder that bounces between the Bucks and G League, Wilson stinks.

When the Bucks exchanged point guards with the Pistons about 5 years ago (B Jennings trade) they received a throw in 2nd rounder. Who is that 2nd rounder... Kris Middleton. 2nd rounders sometime do not show there potential immediately. So maybe Wilson or S Brown or maybe even Christian Wood (my favorite young Buck) might interest the Cavs.

They miss Henson on the defensive end more than people realize.. He was playing the best basketball of his career before he was injured and his combination of length and quickness compliments Giannis and ignites the break. Hopefully he'll get back in time to get in peak playing form for the playoffs.

They really only miss Henson because Thon Maker is terrible. If there was any other competent backup center (and Christian Wood might be because he looked so much better than Thon in garbage time against the Blazers) Henson wouldn't be missed so much.

Christian Wood is good. Just put him in the game and let him run along with GA. They should run a shift of GA, Donte, Sterling Brown, Wood, and Wilson. Play pressure defense for about 2-3 minutes per half against the other teams second unit. Just pressure and run. and if it becomes half court on offense GA takes over and you still have pretty good outside shooters. I would love to see what our youth can do together.

I don't think Maker is terrible. He gets eaten alive by "true" big bulky centers in the post. That's no different than Henson in that regard. It's not Maker's fault he's forced to play a role his body isn't ready for yet. Otherwise, he's very active and athletic for a "big" guy on the defensive end. And he does block and alter a lot of shots. He just needs to continue to develop his body and his game. But a big guy who can shoot and be a rim protector on the other end is worth putting in the time to see what he can become.

I love watching Maker play, but I think the biggest thing holding him back is his lack of aggressiveness. On defense he kinda just stands there and hopes the ball goes to him instead of fighting for it. On offense he stands still and either shoots the open shot or immediately passes it. Late in the game last night he was about 6' open with Lopez closing on him. Maker is a decent ball-handler and really should have driven around Lopez to the basket. Thon just has no confidence in what he's capable of. He plays soft. Another 30 lbs. of muscle isn't going to change that.

Nah, he's terrible. Can't catch, can't rebound, not a very good shooter. Just nothing positive about him.

I never said adding muscle alone will make him a really good player. He needs to develop his entire game. Remember, Giannis wasn't very aggressive early in his career either. Still isn't aggressive when it comes to shooting. He came into the NBS with even less high level basketball experience than Giannis. Given that, I'm still optimistic. And besides, Kevin Garnett said Maker will be an MVP one day. ; )

Have to give Thon credit for his effort, the dude does try his balls off. But he's just overmatched and terrible. you can get a good 3-5 min run from him here and there but he's just not a legit NBA play and likely never will be.

Maybe, maybe not. A good reason to put Christian Wood into the game and see what he can do.

I don't know what you're disagreeing with. You don't think he tries hard? I think that's clear. After that I said the guy is terrible and not an NBA player, so yea I'd play Wood and see what happens

I don't think it is so clear cut. He is still very young and can develop over the next 1-2 years. If he doesn't get better in that time, then I would make a call on his basketball talents. That is why I would put Wood in the game. He also plays hard and seems to get results.
