4 - 0

If you haven't checked out the Bucks yet you should probably do so. Offense is unrecognizable from years past. They scored 49 in the 2nd quarter tonight.

Haven't been to a game yet, but the Forum sure sounds quiet. The BC was as well, so I don't know why I'm surprised. I just figured the new arena would bring more juice. Maybe Yelich needs to tell Bucks fans to get loud too?

I think Joe Fan needs to see a bit more before they can put the "Same ole Bucks" line to bed. It's not like Bud was a household name to most. There is a significant visual difference between this team and teams of the last 15 years. People will catch on soon enough.

I watched last night in between rounds of darts, and I think I only saw 1 or 2 mid-range jumpers. I am not an NBA fan, but it makes no sense to me to shoot those shots too much. In the paint, beyond the Arc. Seems simple enough. Middleton looked amazing.

I am going to assume the majority of the mid range shots are from Middleton.

"Last year, the Bucks shooting guard took just 18 percent of his shots at the rim, 52 percent from mid-range, and 30 percent from behind the 3-point line. This year, his attempts in the mid-range have been drastically decreased.

Thus far, Middleton is taking just 24 percent of his shots from that in-between zone, a range where he was among the league’s elite last season, and bumped up his shots at the rim and from deep considerably. He is taking 24 percent of his shots at the rim, the highest percentage of shots there for him since his rookie season six years ago in Detroit, and a staggering 52 percent of his shots from 3-point range."

From aritcle on The Athletic.

To clarify I didn't mean that as a negative for Middleton just that he is usually the one who is shooting the mid range shots. Which he is very good at. Hopefully that part of his game doesn't disappear. That midrange shot can be very effective if the lanes and 3pt shots are being clogged.

I think teams are going to be in trouble if they start guarding the perimeter more against the Bucks as they will be playing to the strengths of Giannis and Middleton. Should be an exciting year for the Bucks.

Would guess Bledsoe since he took 8 of them last night alone.

That was my 2nd guess though I don't like seeing Bledsoe taking those shots.

It doesn't sound like Edens is being implicated..... But just having your name attached to these kinds of articles is all kinds of bad publicity that you simply can't have around your team. Gross. Be careful who you're hanging out with, I guess? Wow.

Was watching a short video last night which showed a common offensive set where Giannis would bring the ball up and everyone else would clear out to the perimeter. It gives Giannis the whole lane to drive, and when he does the rest of the team crashes in. That leaves the opponent choosing either help with Giannis who is unstoppable to the basket, but that leaves teammates open for the assist, which Giannis is getting more of this year. My opinion, it seems to be all predicated on having a center who is somewhat mobile and can shoot 3s. And Ilyasova doing what I think people wanted Snell to do, being the high IQ guy who doesn't care about filling a stat line but is always in the right position.

Deadspin: "This is the first time in Giannis' career that he has a non-moron as coach." Couldn't agree more.

The difference between this year and last year isn't Illyasova being smart (Snell is smart too), it's the coach telling the players "Run to the corners, not the rim on the break." and telling Bledsoe and Brogdon, "Stop coming back to get the ball if you don't right away. Get to your spots."

https://www.nba.com/bucks/video/wsc/teams/c0eae21c-54bc-e727-e872-566311e1bd32 that's from 2 years ago, but, 4 guys on the break, all of them run right down the middle of the court towards the rim (Terry then breaks off back to the corner, late).

Big game with Toronto on Monday. They are also undefeated.

I'm coming into town for the game tonight. Hopefully Antetokounmpo is good to go tonight. He's listed as questionable with a head contusion.

I'm excited to check out the new arena and watch the two best players in the east.

EDIT: Giannis is out with a concussion and Kawhi is out for rest. Still an interesting match up to see who can function better without their best player. I'm a little bummed though.
