3-0 is a great start... now keep adding to it and run away with one for a change.

Keep wanting to believe in Woodruff. Going to take time I suppose but I really hope they give an extended look at Peralta over Woodruff at this point.

Hey guys, just something you might want to try:

STOP WALKING GUYS. Just freaking STOP already!! The last 3 scores by the Diamondbacks have had a run originating from a walk. I don't care if you need to throw a get me over BP pitch, if there's no one on, just THROW IT IN THE STRIKE ZONE. This game looks different entirely if Woodruff just gives up a solo bomb rather than walking a hitter first.

I have to agree with that, especially when twice the walks have been to guys batting under .200. Let people hit the ball, stop trying to pick at the corners with guys that have horrible averages.

Am I wrong for thinking Mayor of Ding Dong City is a legitimately stupid nickname?

I liked it better last year when he was hitting all those doubles and someone (I can't remember if it was here or Twitter) coined the nickname "The Comptroller of Doublesville."

He gave himself that nickname, right?

Oh, that makes the nickname even worse if it's true.

I never understood the hype around Woodruff. He doesn’t seem to have nasty stuff and tends to be iffy when working around the zone.

He has a big workhorse-type body and throws in the mid-90s. He's also had minor league success. Unfortunately the team hasn't developed many of those types over the last few years, so maybe the Woodruff hype train is steaming ahead a little too quickly.

I went and checked it was a Boston sportswriter that originated it, but Shaw seems to like it and went with it also.

I wonder if Woodruff just can't get comfortable because he has yet to get an extended look at the big league level.

I have been all aboard the "Give Woodruff a shot and leave him alone" train, but he's infuriating me today. If walking a horrible hitting Avila leads to a run, I'll pack his bags to Colorado Springs.

Right there with ya. I want the Brewers to be patient but if it is an option between Woodruff and Peralta to go down, right now it should be Woodruff.
