Mudcats Complete Series Win with 6-3 Victory

Dallas Carroll had three hits and both Ronnie Gideon and Rob Henry homered in Carolina's 6-3 win

cut.jpg

The good news is this is the second series win over Wilimington. The bad news is that the Mudcats are now done with Wilmington for the season unless they see them in the playoffs. Braden Webb has now only issued one walk over his last two starts. Progress. Conor Harber got the win in relief. He seems to have found a home in the pen this year. Alec Crawford gets his second save.

Dallas Carroll chipped in with three hits and Keston Hiura and Rob Henry each had two.

Braden Webb 5 1/3 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 4 K

Conor Harber 2 2/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K (Win)

Alec Crawford 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K (Save)

Dallas Carroll 3-4, 2B, SB

Keston Hiura 2-4, 2B, SB

Ronnie Gideon 1-4, HR

Rob Henry 2-3, 2B, HR

If Wilkerson makes one MLB start it will mean the Brewers fleeced the Sox on the Aaron Hill trade.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006
