Rule 6.01(f ) Comment: Umpire’s interference occurs (1)

when a plate umpire hinders, impedes or prevents a catcher’s

throw attempting to prevent a stolen base or retire a runner on

a pick-off play;

Well then, I was assuming it was the same as if the ball hits an umpire after it gets touched by a fielder. In which case, play on.

My exact thought. With no experience yet this season, he should not have been the guy in that situation. That had potential to be a mess quickly. I know there are those here who love CC and think the mangaer has little to no bearing on game results, but I am questioning CC a lot lately, and it is strating to bug me.

How are the historical stats on Chacin the 3rd time through? I'm guessing not good and that's why guys like him, Guerra, Suter are going to get quick hooks. Who was it years ago that you'd see it coming in the 6th or 7th inning that he was losing is but they'd ride it out with the old strategy and he'd give up a chunk of runs, Bush? Maybe Estrada?

I think you're talking about 90% of the starting pitchers we've had since 1984.

ha, true. I think it was Bush. Like he'd give up 0-2 hits in like 6 innings then it would just go boom for him

Look no further than the previous sentence in the rules

Rule 6.01(f) Coach and Umpire Interference

If a thrown ball accidentally touches a base coach, or a pitched or

thrown ball touches an umpire, the ball is alive and in play.

Regression mode still in effect?
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Reminds me of this game although not all Bush's fault

Another great Bush memory I have. At some point after a bad game, a MJS article was headlined "Bush Gets Pounded Hard Again". #phrasing.

I was at that game. And I loved Dave Bush.

It's like the ice bowl, everyone was at that game

I was not at that game. I was sitting at my desk at work watching it on ESPN Gamecast. Was that also the Prince inside the park homer?

Nice, it was one of his 2 IPHR.

The other of course coming in 2007 off the humpty dump roof, giving his 50 HR season a bit of an *

Bring on the advanced stats hate, but JJ seems have a little extra swagger for us and I think the confidence helps him perform better.

In honor of Hawk Harrelson hanging it up this year, I think JJ's performance with us is a little tied to an increase in his TWTW% - The will to win

JJ doesn’t want to give up that 9th inning.
