Meanwhile saladino sits down in aaa, who happens to be a superior defensive player at 2nd, 3rd, and ss. But because he stands in the right handed batters box he should get called up after franklin?

Middle infield roster management has been maddening this year...

This entire situation is just another chapter in how glacially slow this organization reacts to conflict. I also don't understand why Villar contiues to ride the pine while Franklin now takes his spot at 2B.

Dubon is out for the year.. right? I can't really get upset over Franklin because he's gotta be better than what we've had. If not, he'll be gone and someone else will come up until hieura is ready lol

This is awful. Demote Sogard to bring up an even worse Sogard. Also, it's obvious their "plan" is to "get Sogard going again." Which means Sogard will put up some decent numbers for a week or two because he's playing in Colorado Springs, and he'll be right back up.

Just frustrates the crap out of me. There is no way they can believe this move is giving the team the best opportunity to win. If they really do believe that, I'm concerned.

CC just admitted this, but even worse, he said that they tried to give him ABs recently to get him going. The major leagues is not the place to give crappy guys ABs just to get them going. If they aren't going then they shouldn't be on the team. We just witnessed CC sit a superior playerin Arcia for Sogard so that our worst bench player could "get it going". Outrageous.

Tom Haudricourt's tweet. Stearns said #Brewers wanted Franklin's LH bat up here. Interesting part of that is Villar is batting .303 from the left side with .346 OBP. We are told Villar is healthy but he is out of current rotation, it would seem.

I don't know what Villar did to ruffle the feathers of the powers that be, but at some point you have to put your best lineup on the field and try to win games.

I'm not a huge Orf fan as I've been littering these threads with a "but Colorado Springs" agenda, but I would have to think you give him the call at some point?

It seems fairly clear I guess that team personnel/scouts don't think he translates to the MLB at all. That has to be it.

And Franklin somehow does? I just don't see that.

As much as I think this is as stupid as just about everyone, I'm going to leave Franklins split vs RHP so far this season in AA. 326/423/535 with 8 bb to 2 ks. Let's see how that left handed swing handles kluber.

I went and checked out of curiosity if maybe he had really good numbers against Kluber or Carrasco or something...0 for 9 combined between the two...though he is 2 for 3 career against Drake.

I was ready to puke when I saw this transaction, but really won't argue with it seeing the .423 OBP he's posted against righties this year.

Other thing I like is his willingness to play catcher. He's 27 years old and has to know that this could very well be his last chance.

Bottom line is that is not likely to be a long-term thing if he doesn't produce. Probably has 2-3 weeks and if he's not doing well then there will be another player in this spot.

Glad to see Sogard out.

Villar had a hit last week that was probably the worst attempt at stretching a single into a double that I’ve ever seen in, what, 40 plus years of watching baseball. He was out by a mile. It was truly ridiculous. If management had enough after that display, you can’t blame them. From the TV angle, I couldn’t tell if he had a stop sign but it was unbelievably stupid. Yelich was next and doubled. It literally cost a run.

Now maybe Orf?? I was out on the golf course this afternoon, and turned on to hear Counsell talking about Nick this and Nick that. My first thought was do they call Orf Nick instead of Nate? Took me a few minutes for it to register it was Franklin. He was maybe the third best middle infielder at Biloxi? What's he doing back in the big leagues.

All our problems are solved. Hiura is playing in the field tonight.

By the way, Orf is 2 for 3 tonight so far. Against a RHP of all things, in Nashville.

Now 3-4 ... and he started at SS.

Yeah but he’s right handed so there’s no way he could come up and help us win ball games.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I know some are going to feel sorry for Nick Franklin but this is actually a sweet deal for him. If he gets injured one game sooner he never comes up and loses thousands. So basically the opposite of Dubon.

I fully expect Saladino up tomorrow. Or Sogard back. I’m not sure which is less exciting.

It’ll be Sogard and they’ll give us some dumb reason like it was just easier or some crap like that.
