Biloxi Box Score

Four hits and five walks doesn't cut it. That's all Biloxi could manage on Saturday in a 4-2 lose to Birmingham. The only runs they scored were due to a an error by the Barons.

The highlight of the game was Nick Ramirez striking out six of the seven batters he faced.

Batting

Troy Stokes Jr. 1-2, 2BB

Wendell Rijo: 1-3, B

Pitching

Wuilder Rodriguez: 5.0 IP, 7 hits, 4 ER, 1BB, 4K, Lose

Nick Ramirez: 2.1 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 1BB, 6k

Josh Uhen: 0.2 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 0BB, 1K

Notes

Wuilder Rodriguez started on Saturday, which is rare. He surrendered four runs in five innings. Rodriguez moved to the pen in 2017, and has produced much better numbers as a reliever the as a starter.

Biloxi Log

All the Shucker scoring came in the 5th inning - courtesy of an error.

Biloxi Top of the 5th

Jake Gatewood strikes out swinging.

Jake Hager singles on a fly ball to center fielder Tito Polo.

Clint Coulter walks. Jake Hager to 2nd.

With Wendell Rijo batting, wild pitch by Jordan Stephens, Jake Hager to 3rd. Clint Coulter to 2nd.

Wendell Rijo walks.

Corey Ray strikes out swinging.

Troy Stokes Jr. reaches on a fielding error by third baseman Matt Rose. Jake Hager scores. Clint Coulter scores. Wendell Rijo to 2nd.

Lucas Erceg pops out to third baseman Matt Rose in foul territory.

Comeback 'Cats Fall 5-4 Despite Late Heroics

Weston Wilson hit a game tying home run in the ninth, but the Wood Ducks walked-off again 5-4

A dramatic two out home run by Weston Wilson in the 9th to tie the game went for naught as the Wood Ducks scored in the bottom of the 9th on a controversial two out hit down the third base line. The Mudcats bitterly contested the fair call but the play stood and Chase Williams took the loss for the second day in a row.

Marcos Diplan 4 2/3 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

Daniel Brown 1 2/3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K

Nattino Diplan 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K

Tucker Neuhaus 1-4, HR

Weston Wilson 2-4, 2 HR, outfield assist

Keston Hiura 1-4

Sky Sox Game Summary and Postgame Notes

Gotta be the best report on a daily basis across all of AAA, tidbits galore...

Box Score / Game Log

Jacob Nottingham two more hits, including a double, wow.

Nate Orf's 4th start in RF (other starts - 10 at 2B, 3 at SS, 2 at 3B)

Throwing error at SS for Mauricio Dubon (7th overall); did he extend his hit streak to 17? You know if he did or not because you read the summary/notes linked above.

Jorge Lopez locked down the save, but this habit of closers throughout the chain walking leadoff men is getting annoying.

Nice feature story on Stokes, plenty of quotes from the young outfielder on his Brewers journey thus far...
