Losing a ball in the sun is a little league mistake? Man, some people are harsh. It happens from time to time. Obviously as we have seen it from some good fielding outfielders on back to back days.

This offense is flat out horrible right now... And the defense... Pitching has been phenomenal, but its amazing adding Cain and Yelich can't overcome the complete regression from the rest of the offense... We have 3-4 guys to build around for positional players (maybe 5 if we can find replacements at other spots then Arcia's anemic bat can stay - can he bunt?)...

Schwarber lost a ball in the sun in the first inning but Almora was hustling all the way and made an easy catch after a long run. With the Brewers it's as if they are surprised when sun and wind is a factor. The wind was blowing it toward Santana who didn't want to be bothered. These types of plays on this kind of day are the difference between winning and losing. There was a post this winter when the idea of dealing Santana came up and a scout was quoted as saying Santana is not a winning player.

Another goof up now on the infield.

Can we bench the entire team?

As usual, utterly no fundamentals form the team. How many frickin dropped balls do we need before our fielders IMMEDIATELY put their glove up to block the sun as soon as the ball is in play. If you wait until you have already lost the ball, it is too late. Notice how Rizzo did it last inning, then look at our clueless team

One team in baseball that can't solve Cubs pitching, and it has to be us. I wonder what their ERA is versus us as opposed to versus the rest of the league.

Tough days to hit, but this team won't be bothered to adjust their approach. Yelich gives one weak attempt to bunt, then goes back hacking.

Brewers are a terrible "elements" team. Part of that is playing indoors half the time. Part is poor preparation. That's on the coaches and players. Part is they all seem to want to look "cool".

Not to mention, players seem like they're disinterested in going to the ball. I get it, avoid collisions, but these are lazy pop-ups where ppl need to get into the area if they have a better angle.

Zobrist just had zero issue with one.

1.35 ERA, .176 BA vs. Brewers

4.23 ERA, .260 BA vs. other opponentz.

3.53 ERA, .248 BA Overall Stats

Running in on a fly ball while holding up a glove to block the sun is tough, ask Heyward yesterday. Doing what Zobrist did is not the same.

It probably would be if you only counted starting pitching.

Hitting a 95 mph pitch is also tough, this is the majors, no excuses. No more tolerating mediocrity

Yeah I don’t know how to get those numbers. Someone else can give it a try.

I might be dating myself, but coaches ever hit fungoes to outfielders any more? I know the days of teams taking infield before games are long gone, but if you have a team used to not wind or sun, hitting them flyballs before games would make sense.

Seeing Javier Báez seem to take the next step offensively gives me hope for Arcia. Báez entering his 26 year and Arcia entering his 24 year.
