My analysis was that there was a dropoff in talent around #10, and then very similar talent from #11 through early 2nd. I don't think they get much worse of a player at 27, at least not that much worse than another first round pick.

I'm sorry but if there isn't a corresponding move this is a total joke (or they have a crystal ball and know Edmunds/James is falling). WE HAVE NO CORNERBACKS OR SAFETIES AND BARELY LINEBACKERS, I REPEAT we have no CB, S, LB.

Yep, and there are plenty of those later in the draft.

And a 2016 Pro-Bowler and a 2017 2nd round pick at safety say hello.

If Gutekunst was dead set on taking a CB with the first pick, then this trade down is the right move. IMO the CB quality will probably be very similar between #14 and #27. Also really brings the offensive line into play. I'm not a fan of Kolton Miller, but there are plenty of attractive guards there and RG is pretty much open.

There were some rumblings that Gutekunst loved Arkansas' Frank Ragnow. Played center at Arkansas but he would likely have no problem swinging between any of the three interior spots.

Josh Jackson could slide to 27, then you have Isaiah Oliver, Jaire Alexander, Mike Hughes, and Donte Jackson who are all easily late 1st/early 2nd round values.

The draft is very deep at CB. Not a lot of high-end guys, but lots of guys who could be solid starters.

I was thinking Jackson at 27 also.

BTW, "Trade down" is not necessarily the winner of the poll. The question is "Who do you think the Packers will take in the 1st round?" Doesn't specify #14.

Several of us could still be right.

There goes Derwin James. I don't see any player worth trading up for now. Would be very content to just sit at #27 and see what happens.

I'll mention Frank Ragnow again. Gut feeling that he will be the guy if he is still available. That will likely cause many Wisconsin gaskets to blow, especially since most of the media will list him as a center (even though he would likely be plugged right in at RG).

Well so much for that. Certainly wasn't expecting a trade back up with Edmunds and James gone.

#14 was the intent of the question. My poll, my rules. :)
