I don't think I've ever seen an ovation like that. At least not with a non Hall of Fame player.

Very nice ovation for Cain. Really cool to see fans do that for a former player.

Happens when you help a team win a world series for the first time in a couple of decades.

This team really needs to learn how to start utilizing the 10 day DL. If Arcia still can't go he should have been DLed by now. Nothing about his injury looked like a day to day thing. It feels like we've been playing with a 24 man roster all season.

I totally agree with this and have said the same thing at other points on this board. Having a ten day DL now should make this a no brainer for all but the most minor injuries

Is it just me or has Braun hit a ton of weak grounders very early in the count this year? Weak contact and not making the pitcher work is very unsexy.

Braun's ground ball rate this year is 48.1%. His career rate is 46.1%.

His soft hit percentage is .3% above his career numbers. His hard hit percentage is down a little bit (~6%).

This year he's seeing 3.33 pitches per PA. His career number is 3.72. So that's down a bit, not sure how significant that is but it seems decently significant (also pretty small sample size).

So he's maybe not quite as good in these categories as his career numbers but not terribly so.

If Thames stays at first that shallow fly ball is probably a run.

True but I don’t mind Thames taking the risk in that case. Throw was clearly going to third and, if safe, he eliminates the potential double play possibility.

Disagree. I think it was silly to have a guy that clearly doesn't run well try to stretch that into another base.

The way it’s been going for Braun I’m shocked that it didn’t ricochete to the first basemen.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
