The difference in ERA between the 2 is kind of funny. Their WHIP, k's and walks are pretty similar. Without diving deep into advanced stats it would appear that Davies is due for a nice little run, while Kennedy is due for some bad luck. Maybe? Hopefully!

I was going to joke earlier that I was afraid Counsell was going to use Sogard as his DH today. Hopefully Arcia heals up soon. Also, Domingo needs his at bats to get going but I really believe Aguilar has earned the DH spot for this series. A little disappointed in that.

Can we use our DH for Sogard instead of the pitcher?

See, there was still a joke in there. :laughing

This team really needs to learn how to start utilizing the 10 day DL. If Arcia still can't go he should have been DLed by now. Nothing about his injury looked like a day to day thing. It feels like we've been playing with a 24 man roster all season.

I agree. Weird part is Arcia has stated he's fine and able to play. Yet this is his fourth day off now - that's almost half the DL stint already. What will it take for Sogard to hit himself off the roster? He's gotta be getting close.

Highly disappointed in the Aguilar not playing. He's red hot, clearly been our best hitter of late (and maybe all season) and he can't get a start in a game where we have a DH??

You take the good with the bad with this weird roster construction, I suppose.

I don’t think it’s roster construction. CC wouldn’t ok Arcia to play if he saw that Arcia had an itch on his neck, especially if it meant getting his clone Sogard in

Feel like this is how Yelich started too. "No big deal, ready to go" turned into weeks.

You just knew that Counsell would find any way to play Sogard as much as he could. It is what it is at this point and until Villar and Arcia start swinging it more consistently, he has all the ammo he needs to pencil in that .500 OPS into the lineup. Veteran grit at its finest.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

The official media guide is always fun to read before a new series. Which bizarre fact or bad pun will one of the announcers quote to look clever tonight?

Arcia is sick today, the ankle is fine, that's the only reason he's out.

They said he'd be in tomorrow.

Keep Counsell away from his food and personals stuff.

Tyler Mahle has yet to give up a hit through six innings and has struck out 11 Braves.

I recall a couple of folks here upset because the Brewers could only score two runs off of him.

EDIT: Freddie Freeman ended that quickly. But he's kind of good.
