For those unfamiliar with Marlins starting pitcher Trevor Richards here is a must read article about his time spent working at MillerCoors Brewery in Milwaukee last year:

In one year, this Marlins pitcher went from working at MillerCoors to pitching at Miller Park.

Richards has made an improbable rise from Indy ball to MLB.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I think they should go:

Yelich- RF

Cain- CF

Thames- 1B

Braun- LF

Shaw- 3B

Villar- 2B

Arcia- SS

Nottingham- C

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I'm going to guess Domingo gets the day off today.

Cain (CF)

Yelich (RF)

Braun (LF)

Shaw (3B)

Thames (1B)

Villar (2B)

Arcia (SS)

Bandy ©

Chacin (P)

Nailed it! And given Counsell's lineup roulette routine, that's saying something.

Thank you, thank you.

For anyone that is curious, the Brewers win this one 6-4. I have inside sources..

I knew they wouldn’t, but I thought the exact same thing to stagger the Lineup

Yeah I hate that they can pop in a lefty at Shaw and Thames with no on in between to make them pay.

For whatever reason Counsell's rule is that Braun must bat 3rd whenever he starts, and Shaw must bat 4th.

It’s not really a Counsell thing. It’s pretty much how they all operate. [sarcasm]If they would’ve just traded for Realmuto, he could bat 5th and Thames 6th and problem solved.[/sarcasm]

Do the Marlins have a lefty in the pen? Thought they said last night they don’t.

I’m not sure. So I guess it wouldn’t matter then. Good catch.

Awesome at bats to start this game. Even Braun’s strikeout at bat was quality. Keep grinding this guy out of the game.

I would have liked it better if he hadn't finished it by swinging at ball 4 twice.

Richards already up to 60 pitches
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006
