2018-04-19: Marlins (Peters) at Brewers (Anderson) 7:10 PM CDT [Brewers win, 12-3]

Eye Black
The fact that the Marlins have been around 25 years makes me feel really old.

Yes, and remembering watching that Nieves no-hitter when I was a kid does the same. Was it channel 18 back then?

Probably. Did they move to channel 24 at one point?

Yes, it was 24 at some point, too.

This reminds me, I just recently realized the Brewers organization is currently in the midst of their 50th season of baseball (if you count the one year in Seattle).

I assume they won’t actually celebrate for a couple of years (2020) until their “50th Anniversary” of being in Milwaukee, which will be during their 51st season in Milwaukee.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Looks like it was channel 18. They moved to 24 in 1994. I vaguely recall games on channel 4 but that was when they showed like 10 a year.

Five of the six major network television stations in Milwaukee, along with WMLW-CA, have carried game broadcasts over the years, with WTMJ-TV being the original broadcaster in the 1970s. WVTV carried the team for the bulk of the 1980s and early 1990s, with WCGV-TV following from 1994 until 2004, and WISN-TV carrying select Sunday games at the beginning of the 2000s.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Was it only road games, too, or am I not remembeing correctly. I remember my dad having it on the radio for home games, but dang that's a long time ago now.

Yeah I don't think they ever showed home games before going on cable. I could be wrong though.

It's not just Cains facial expressions, when he's just walking he's got a limp or hobble. Rewound back to when he scored and he had a noticeable limp. Now after the double it wasn't nearly as bad, but you can see it.

To be fair, Cain and I are the same age and this is how I look at all times. We're just...old.

Brewers traded for Tyler Saladino?

For all the talk about how much fun it was going to be to watch this team, they just aren't fun to watch.

At least part of the problem is the Brewers haven’t had some of the fun new added elements together thus far. Yelich has started just 7 games coming into tonight and the Brewers are 5-2 in those games (granted those were against mostly bad teams). I think it will get better.
