Brewerfan.net Top 25 All-Time List with Highest Ranking

Brewer Fanatic Contributor

We have now done a dozen Top 25 lists (actually the first list was a Top 20 - but close enough) over the course of almost four years. I thought it would be fun to see the top ranking each player got who qualified for the Top 25. There have been 72 players who have been part of the coveted Brewerfan.net Community Top 25. Below are all of them. In front of each player's name is the hight rank they achieved. After their name is the year (or years) they accomplished this feat. As you can imagine, some people have multiple years listed after them - such as Arcia who who was our top ranked player spanning over five or six polls and three different calendar years.

I thought this was an interesting exercise. It was fascinating seeing some guys we dismiss now so high on our lists. Gilbert Lara at #2. Coulter at #3. That sort of thing.

It was funny - and sad - that we'd push any talented player up the ladder because our system was so lacking in 2014.

Interesting that only 7 players graduated to Milwaukee. Not surprising that out of those 7 that Suter peaked at the lowest, 20, and if Clancy didn't stick to his guns probably would have never gotten that high.

Interesting that only 7 players graduated to Milwaukee. Not surprising that out of those 7 that Suter peaked at the lowest, 20, and if Clancy didn't stick to his guns probably would have never gotten that high.

The Suter ranking is actually from our very first poll - when our talent was much thinner. He was listed on 10 of 22 ballots (much less participation than we get now). He had started out 2014 pitching great - then sort of imploded after our poll came out.

After that, he rare got more than a handful of voters (including one very high vote) - but it was enough to just nudge him into the Top 25.

A lot of forgotten names with 2014 next to their name. Quite the turn around from then to now. Thanks for putting this together!

Four years from now there will be a number of forgotten names with 2018 next to their names too. Not as many as 2014, but they all won't make it.

Kinda crazy that Delmonico turned himself around and now plays every day for the Sox.
