I said highly-regarded prospect. He was ranked #6 in our organization in 2012. That's highly-regarded.

The Brewers' minor league system was widely considered amongst the league's bottom 5 back then - so being the 6th-rated prospect in a system headlined by Wily Peralta is tough to be considered highly regarded.

sigh...more innings of baseball for this slow motion train wreck of a team - at least it feels that way!

No kidding. Logan Schafer, Kyle Heckathorn and Nick Bucci were some of our other top organizational prospects from that era. Top organizational prospect doesn't equal top prospect if the system stinks.

Don't forget about the second coming of Randy Johnson... Johnny Hellweg

Brewers upper management at the time considered him to be a pretty solid prospect. That was never the point of my post. The bottom line is, second base is pretty weak right now and I wish we'd have kept him. That's my opinion, it isn't going to change. You can have yours.

Back to the game.

You are the one that brought it up completely out of the blue.

If it wasn't the Cardinals, I'd almost like to see someone knock one out of here in the bottom half to prevent something stupid happening with a reliever...then again Hoover could probably be ridden until this game is put out of its misery and then get sent down to CO Springs after tonight, right?

Unbelievable that Jennings was not used to face Garcia. The way CC uses his bullpen is more than frustrating. The Drake and Hoover moves just baffle me. Jennings is better than both in my opinion. Why save him? Someone please explain the rationale. Will our media ask CC some tougher questions concerning his moves.

Well at least you are open minded.

I believe I saw Hellweg is closing games for AAA Indy Indians (Pirates affiliate) this year...

They opened at home against the Columbus Clippers...

Wow. Sure enough, he is still pitching. That actually really surprises me.

No options left. They'd have to waive him.
