Via @BrewersPD: Jacob Nottingham & Quintin Berry to the Col Springs DL. Catcher Tyler Heineman transferred to the Sky Sox from Biloxi.

VIDEO: Nottingham's Friday exit

Via Adam McCalvy: "Brewers catching prospect Jacob Nottingham hit the Triple-A DL today with an intercostal strain. Those can be tricky, David Stearns acknowledged, but the belief is it's on the minor side."

Poor Quintin Berry. Played a full game of Thursday the 10th, but no one checked on his status.

Catcher Charlie Meyer activated at Colorado Springs, transferred from the Helena taxi squad.

Seems odd to promote Sanchez from A+ all the way to AAA. Olczak or Griep or any of the SP at AA would have made more sense. Wonder if this means the Brewers value Sanchez higher than we think.

Sanchez is probably only there until Asher arrives back with the Sky Sox. The Brewers have not backfilled Sanchez' roster spot in Carolina, which would seem to indicate his stay with the Sky Sox will be brief for now.

The Shuckers and Mudcats are both currently operating with 24-man rosters. All of the pitcher shuffling and middle infield injuries have caused an unusual amount of chaos for the minor league operations staff. The Mudcats are short a pitcher, the Shuckers a position player (assuming 13-man staffs for both).

This is exactly what happened. Alec Asher has been officially added to the Sky Sox roster after his option.

RHP Miguel Sanchez (who last pitched ten days ago for the Mudcats) has now been assigned to Biloxi.

Hope he gets to keep the frequent flyer miles.

Via the Shuckers:

BILOXI, MS – On Thursday, the Biloxi Shuckers announced that they have activated OF Trent Grisham from the disabled list. In another set of moves, RHP Miguel Sanchez has been transferred to the Shuckers from Triple-A Colorado Springs (as we noted above), and RHP Josh Uhen has been transferred from Biloxi to the Helena roster.

Grisham hit .194 in 12 games with six walks (.310 OBP) prior to suffering a high-ankle sprain that shelved him for a month.

Prior to landing on the Colorado Springs’ roster, Sanchez tossed 21.2 innings for the Carolina Mudcats. Opponents hit just .182 against him while he allowed six earned runs (2.53 ERA). The righty struck out 30 while walking just six.

The Shuckers roster now sits at 25 active players.

It's been a brutal nine brief appearances for Uhen this spring, with 14 walks in seven innings.

Veteran IF Andres Blanco (nasal surgery following a bad-hop grounder) activated at AAA; 6'7", 253 lb. RH reliever Braulio Ortiz promoted from Wisconsin to Carolina; LH reliever Cody Beckman activated from Wisconsin DL.

Ortiz is 26, in his 8th pro season and pitched at the rookie ball level in Helena last year -- one of Milwaukee's most interesting reclamation projects in that regard. Ortiz, originally a White Sox farmhand and with time in the Reds' system, is one of three "Braulio's" pitching in affiliated ball currently.

Both RHP Aaron Brooks and OF Quintin Berry were activated off the 7-day AAA DL on Sunday.

Aren't they 2 over the limit now? And now Peralta is on his way and another pitcher could be coming in a couple days.

Yep, they are 2 over. I had assumed that Dillard and Noriega would be Helena'd, but Gabriel played last night so I'm not sure what the deal is. They shouldn't need to clear room for Peralta for another few days, though.

Yep, they are 2 over.

Tim Dillard was placed on Colorado Springs' 7-day DL and Shane Opitz was transferred to Helena.

The Sky Sox will need to clear 3 more spaces to accommodate the returns of Freddy Peralta, Ji-Man Choi, and Brandon Woodruff in the coming days. Have to imagine Michael Brady and Radhammes Liz are feeling some heat, though there is the open roster spot in Biloxi recently vacated by Tom Jankins.

Aaron Wilkerson has been placed on the Sky Sox' 7-day DL in order to add Freddy Peralta to the active roster.

Wilkerson missed the first six weeks of the AAA season after dislocating his non-throwing shoulder at the beginning of April. No word on whether his current DL stint is related to that. He's appeared in 3 games for the Sky Sox, 2 of them starts.

RHP Luis Ortiz has been activated from the DL and will start for the @BiloxiShuckers tonight.

Last time Ortiz pitched in Mobile, he struck out a career-high 10 batters in 6.1 innings out of the 'pen (piggybacking Miley). Took an unfortunate loss in extra innings.

From May 22nd:

RHP Thomas Jankins placed on the Biloxi DL (injury undisclosed)

Turns out that transaction was rescinded. Instead, Jankins was shifted to the Helena paper roster when RHP Luis Ortiz was activated from the Biloxi DL on Thursday the 24th.
