RHP Tristan Archer gets the bump from Biloxi to Colorado Springs.

RHP Jon Olczak backfills that promotion with one of his own, going from Carolina to Biloxi. This will be the AA debut for the 21st round pick in 2015 out of NC State, congrats.

RHP Miguel Sanchez is activated from the Helena paper roster to the Carolina roster. This will be the High-A debut for Sanchez, who, despite being 24, is only in his 3rd pro season.

RHP Joaquin De La Cruz and SS Trever Morrison have been transferred from Wisconsin to the Helena paper roster.

Taking their place are RHP Christian Taugner and CF Zach Clark, both of whom are in this afternoon's game. This will be Taugner's initial assignment to full season ball, having pitched the entire season for the AZL Brewers in '17 after being drafted in the 37th round.

I believe if they are with the team, they get paid the same as their teammates regardless of which roster they're on. I'm not sure what the difference in weekly pay is between A-ball and rookie level clubs.

Or, guys like Tim Dillard who have a negotiated contract would earn the same amount regardless of which roster they're on (assuming there isn't a provision in their contract to the contrary).

On Friday, Brewers Player Development announced the release of 24-year-old RHP Jordan Desguin (36th round, 2015 out of Florida Gulf Coast, Jacob Barnes' school).

Desguin spent all of 2017 with the Timber Rattlers, but he surrendered 17 Midwest League home runs in 87.2 innings (30 appearances, ten of them starts).

Good luck to Desguin moving forward, whether in baseball or beyond.

Jordan Desguin was signed today by the Traverse City (Michigan) Beach Bums of the independent Frontier League. Good for him.

Brewers Player Dev (‏@BrewersPD):

RHP Angel Ventura has been transferred to Colorado Springs. OF Kyle Wren placed on the DL

From Tuesday's game 4/10:

New Orleans Top of the 6th

Pitching Change: Michael Brady replaces Freddy Peralta, batting 9th, replacing Johnny Davis.

Cristhian Adames singles on a line drive to center fielder Keon Broxton.

Jonathan Rodriguez grounds into a double play, second baseman Andres Blanco to shortstop Mauricio Dubon to first baseman Ji-Man Choi. Cristhian Adames out at 2nd.

Rafael Ortega triples (1) on a fly ball to center fielder Keon Broxton.

Defensive Substitution: Quintin Berry replaces left fielder Kyle Wren, batting 8th, playing left field.

J. B. Shuck doubles (2) on a fly ball to center fielder Keon Broxton. Rafael Ortega scores.

Austin Nola grounds out, second baseman Andres Blanco to first baseman Ji-Man Choi.

I went back to watch the MiLB.com archive (01:51:00 minute mark), and Wren suffered what appeared to be either a groin or hamstring injury chasing the ball down. He did walk off under his own power, so hopefully his 7-day DL stint won't extend by too much.

The Brewers have signed minor league first baseman Fernando Perez.

The 24-year old Perez was originally drafted by the Padres in the 3rd round back in 2012, but was released by San Diego at the end of March. He played 63 games at Double-A last season.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

From April 6th --

The Brewers signed 24-year-old infielder Fernando Perez, released on March 28th by San Diego. Perez tweeted out his signing. The LH bat is on the Helena roster for now, awaiting further assignment.

Career numbers for the player at the link above.

Perez will go down as a phantom Brewer, never officially appearing in a game for the organization, as Milwaukee released Perez from extended spring training today.
