2018-04-03: Cardinals (Flaherty) at Brewers (Anderson) 6:40 PM CDT [Brewers win, 5-4]

Eye Black
What a win, this offense is never going to have us out of games. Anderson's velocity dip has me really concerned though, he really needs to be more 94-96 to be a TOR starter and if he's 89-92 like tonight he's going to just kinda be a guy.

How was his velocity in San Diego?

Per Adam McCalvy
Craig Counsell on Ryan Braun, who is 3-for-17 but has won two games with ninth-inning homers: "We told him to hit homers at the end of the game. It's a new strategy we've got this year."

:laughing

Did any of you see the video of Counsell going nuts in the dugout after Braunie's HR? :laughing

One helluva win you guys. But for Card fans it could have been worse. HOW you ask....you know how gloom and doom baseball fans are, and when Carpenter hit directly into the teeth of the shift with a chance to put the game out of reach, and then the hitless wonder Wong was not pinch-hit for (thank you Matheny) you start to get nervous. So I, for one was not shocked.

I swear that when Yellish had 2 strikes on him I was still biting my nails. There simply are games you don't deserve to win and this was a classic case. Oh well, maybe we getcha tonite. ;)

It was posted earlier in this thread, but it was down in that game too. Think he topped out at 93 there, he was throwing with less velo in this game and don't think he even hit 93.
