Your 2018 Colorado Springs Sky Sox

Mass Haas
Brewer Fanatic Staff

We will begin to see some formal minor league roster announcements soon. The formal announcement will come directly from the Sky Sox, not the Brewers. All four minor league affiliates will likely send out their press releases within an hour or so of each other once the Brewers have given them the official go-ahead to do so.

Opening Night is Thursday 4/5!

NOTE: Last season, the affiliates released their rosters on Tuesday AM, just two days prior)

Feel free to link to any formal notices you see here.

Often we learn via farmhand tweets, who has been assigned where, prior to the formal affiliate announcements. We'll link to any of those posts in this thread as they come out.

As you might know, we use the "Your 2018" threads to post and link to feature stories that are outside the scope of game activity covered in the Daily Link Report.

These threads have become among the most popular for viewing here, and we look forward to kicking them off formally.

Please don't speculate here at this time, this is an anxious time for many on the farm, and unfortunately we're also likely going to learn about more player releases in the next few days, in addition to those players excited about their assignments.

newly signed andres blanco will man the hot corner for colorado springs.

Hopefully Erceg starts hot and advances up the ladder, because Blanco adds nothing anywhere in the chain. I would have rather seen Franklin get the starts at 3B. At least he still has some upside in theory.

except Franklin will be catching

I know ... which is odd considering the team seems to have better catching depth than 3B depth in the upper minors.

I believe Jim Henderson, Hiram Burgos, Jon Perrin, Johnny Davis all not present on a roster. I don't think any were reported to begin in rehab either.

Henderson I think was reported to be signed for a player/coach role so I can see why he might not be rostered.

amazing how no one in the IF is a player the brewers drafted, and instead, all FA signings.

An interesting thing is that Davis was listed in the numerical section of the initial roster (No. 17).

I thought Dillard made the Sox roster? Now I dont see him.

Dillard often gets moved around - going from the active roster to the IR. I'm guessing they just don't have a spot right now so they are doing some roster voodoo.

Ya. I followed his roster movements a lot last year. He spent a lot of time on the Helena roster for not playing a single game for them.

In honor of Brett Phillips' return to the Majors, a look at his AAA stat line so far this year:

.143/.571/.429

He's hitting 1-for-7 with 7 WALKS!!! 4 strikeouts and his 1 hit is a triple.

Surprised he jumped Keon

I'm not. Keon can only play CF apparently, and Cain has been durable. Phillips is great defensively anywhere out there.
