Schoop is showing signs. Yesterday, he hit a ringing RBI double into the RF gap, then with the bases loaded and the tying run on first, he squared up a pitch off Cishek, who is tough on RH. that Schwarber ran down in left. If that ball is 15 feet further to his left, it clears the bases. I think he's settled in now and ready to take off.

We still got a lot of baseball to be played. Nobody in the NL has taken off yet. Tons of warts on pretty much every club. We arent the Yankees and shouldnt turn down our nose at anything less than a division title. How cool would a wild card game be? We are Milwaukee fans.......anything to delay football season is fine by me.

Streak starts tomrrow.

The Brewers are to the point in the schedule now where 21 of their final 36 games are at home. I know they won’t win all of the home games or lose all of the away games, but if they did they would finish with 90 wins and likely in the playoffs.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

3 left @StL

3 @Pitt, 6 home

3 @Cin, 6 home

3 @Chi, 3 home

3 @Was

3 home vs SF

3 home vs Det

That is 9 games against true playoff contenders. Try for 4-5, though with 6 on the road, I would expect 3-6.

15 vs .500 clubs. 3-3 on the road and 6-3 at home???

12 vs reds and Detroit. 2-1 on road and 7-2 at home.

That would give us 21-15 record and finish with 90 wins. If that is not enough, the other teams simply took off and you tip your cap.

Less specific optimism here, but how fun are the standings in general? 6 teams basically within a game of each other, and the dodgers lurking about 2 games behind that group...cubs 3 games ahead of that group. Nationals and Pirates are a 10 of 12 type stretch from being right in it again like the cardinals.

Starting on Tuesday, the Cubs play on 23 consecutive days including an 11 day, 4 city road trip (ATL, PHI, MIL, WAS). They're not running away with it.

Plus Darvish is basically toast for 2018, if not much longer, and his rotation replacement Montgomery just hit the dl with shoulder issues. Their rotation is leaking and their bullpen is far from 100 percent - perfect time for them to go on this crazy stretch of consecutive games.

The Cubs are about to play 23 games in 23 days.

The Braves just got swept.

The Cards won't keep up their pace.

No reason to believe we can't be in the thick of things. Just have to get good pen management, and the offense to do what it's been doing more so lately - get 4-6 runs a game, and see where the chips fall.

E - Atlanta 68 55 .553 - - 5-5 L4

C - Chi Cubs 71 52 .577 - - 5-5 L2

W - Arizona 69 56 .552 - - 6-4 W1

Wild Card

Colorado 68 56 .548 - - 8-2 W4

Philadelphia 68 56 .548 - - 4-6 L2

Milwaukee 69 57 .548 - - 4-6 W1

St. Louis 68 57 .544 0.5 37 8-2 L1

LA Dodgers 67 58 .536 1.5 36 4-6 W1

Pretty fun messy top here.

Cards have six on the road this week @LAD and @COL. They'll hang a few L's, and if they don't, LAD and COL will hang a few L's.

One big bonus to the giant dog pile is all those divisional foes from the East/West will play each other countless times. Those teams will either beat each other up to a near .500 record or one is likely to pound the other...causing one to run away with the division and the other to fall in the WC standings.

If we can take care of business on our end and win 90 games or so we should lock down one of those spots pretty easily in my opinion.

We are going to be right in there.

We might be getting Davies back soon. He has a rehab start scheduled with Biloxi on Wednesday and sources indicate if he has success there and can go six innings of clean baseball, he might be headed back to Milwaukee just in time for September. Would be nice to get him back!

Also, the bats came alive again tonight, some good hitting top-to-bottom in the lineup. There were also a lot of hard hit balls from a number of guys that didn't fall, overall it was good to see us making great contact.

Back in the driver's seat with the top wildcard slot, let's hold on to it!

Tough one tonight but the rest of our NL foes lost besides STL, and they pushed the Dodgers down further.

We shouldn't see Kratz for 2-3 days with the off day Thursday. Pina is warming up. Hopefully that home run gets Schoop going. Offense scored 5+ again. Chance to win a series tomorrow.
