2018 Brewers Optimism Thread!

torts
We also hold a 4 game lead on the entire NL!

It’s actually 2 games but still nice!

True but, we have 4 more wins than anyone in the NL!

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

We still have Nelson and Thames returning to look forward to.

As long as Thames doesn't dislodge the 2018 MVP candidate they have playing 1B right now.

While unfortunate, Thames' injury might've been the best thing to happen to this team, since it has certainly solidified Aguilar's roster spot, and probably his starting spot. I mean, talk about a guy taking full advantage of an opportunity. Shuddering to think that Jesus may have been on the DFA/trade block the first few weeks. Saladino also making the most of things!

You could honestly make a fairly reasonable MVP case for any of Cain, Shaw, Jeffress, or Hader depending on what numbers you wanted to use or present.

I don't think any of them will win it but you could honestly argue for any of them as candidates.

Brewers are going into a huge home series vs. Cardinals 4 games up on them with most wins, least amounts of losses, & best win percentage in National league! If we can at least take 2 of 3 that would be great way to lead into June! 5-2 vs Mets & Cards would be big win on this home stand! 6-1 with a sweep even better!

June has another tough NL stretch with 6 vs Phillies, 3 vs Cubs, 4 vs. Cards, 3 vs Pirates. Mix in two verse Indians who are still a quality team. 3 vs awful White Sox, Reds, and 2 vs Royals is nice though. Come out strong in June

Figure something like this:

4 of 6 Phillies

5 of 10 Cubs, Cards, Pirates

1 of 2 Indians

5 of 8 Sox, Royals, Reds

15-11 in June... 2-1 Cards

51-32 going into July..... that would be nice place to be & have a feeling a trade would happen to bring in Ace plus Nelson returning later.

Just got to win these division games if we are going to continue to fend off those 3 chasing us.

The Brewers are exactly 1/3 of the way through their regular season schedule.

The Brewers are at 34 wins (.630 winning percentage) which puts them on pace for 102 wins.

If they play .500 baseball the rest of the season they will win 88 games.

It has been an amazing start to the season.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I thought deleted the text, oh well! This board has weird posting rules.

You can't delete your own posts? I thought you could. Anyone else have that issue?

You can but after someone else posts after it, you cannot.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

You can, as long as nobody has replied. Once there is a reply, you cannot, as I learned.

Look at this rotation. Consider the numbers, sure, but just look at the names too. NL best record with an entirely mediocre staff. Plus, you have Thames, Braun, Santana, Pina, and Arcia/any SS who are capable of offering more than they have.

That's a lot of room to get even better on paper, and really not much in the way of regression candidates. Maybe Aguilar a little, may be the bullpen a little.

So while I don't expect them to finish with their current winning %, a lot of reasons to be optimistic they can stay pretty close to that.
