It wasn't that. Reuters 0-7, Davis on 2-9, trice 3-10 from the field. Overall 2-19 from 3. Just way too many missed open looks.

Toss in 10-20 from Happ shooting from 2ft away from the basket.

I hope this team at least gets past the Round of 64 but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't. Their D will keep them in a lot of games but the offense can be downright painful. When teams are doubling or collapsing with 3 on Happ, Trice/Davison/Pritzl/Ford/King have to be able to knock down wide open jumpers, it's just awful basketball when they're not. As much as I appreciate the greatness of Happ's career, I can't help but think the offense will stabilize and be a bit more consistent when they're able to get back to the swing O without running everything through him next year. Expecting Reuvers and King to take big jumps next season.

If there is no Happ or other inside post presence to worry about and draw defenders, the others are going to have a much harder time getting open shots. They have a hard enough time getting open shots now as is.

I think their spacing gets much better next year. At least it should in theory. Happ and Iverson can't shoot worth a lick so basically you can sag off those dudes and prevent any dribble penetration or back door cuts. Next year I believe everyone is threat from three so they should be able to move a little better under the hoop. They have a good three point shooting team believe it or not but they don't get opportunities to shoot very often. They feed Happ in the post and hope he gets close enough for a baby hook. Pretty sure he's one of the highest usage players in the nation.

I think where they will really miss those guys is on the other end of the floor.

Badgers get a 5 seed, and a favorable draw. I like their chances of getting to the sweet 16. Or getting bumped in the first round. Virginia is beatable in the round of 16. The play a style that doesn't necessarily favor the Badgers, but suits UW's style. Let's see if they can get that far....

Oregon has a somewhat small team, largest guy is listed at 6'9", 225, and of the five guys they have who are listed at 6'9"/6'10" two are barely 200 lbs. For reference, Happ is listed as 6'10", 237, and Reuvers is listed as 6'11", 240.

That being said, in the tourney it always comes down to 3-point shooting. Oregon is 189th in 3-point shooting, Wisconsin is 73rd.

I also like the draw, Oregon is going to be a popular upset pick but I see Wisconsin winning. Would love to see them get far enough to get a rematch with Virginia.

The game could be ugly, ugly, ugly.

Wisconsin is 3rd in Ken Pom's adjusted defense, Oregon 19th.

Hopefully it's a big Badger win and not a 48-44 slogfest.

If Happ shows up, they'll win. If he is off, I give the game to Oregon.

Oregon relies a lot on getting turnovers. If UW can take care of the ball I think they win. Pac 12 is a joke of a conference so some of what Oregon has done recently might be a mirage.

Good luck to the seniors and Happ as he tries the next level. Glad to start anew though. We need shooters and a fresh look at offense. Pitiful performance from this group. Wouldn’t mind seeing Gard let go.

I don’t think he is on the hot seat yet, but it is definitely warm. If the Badgers struggle to begin next season, I think he will really start to hear about it. I don’t see him gone before the start of the 2019 season, but I definitely wouldn’t mind it if it were to happen. I don’t think he’s the right guy.

Well that was just atrocious. They picked a bad day to shoot 33%, but somehow it's not surprising coming from this group.

I'm as big a Badger fans as the next but this group never impressed me and I never understood why they were so highly regarded. I couldn't see the Oregon game but I wasn't surprised to see the final score. :( Unless they recruit better next year might be even worse.

Theyre just not very good, and recruiting is worse every year since they made the title game. Really pitiful they have to fight it out to sign a couple 3 star guys every year.

It’s not just that they don’t get high ranked recruits either. The guys they’ve got seem like a bunch of random pieces that don’t fit together.

Happ had a great individual career, but they won’t miss this group of seniors. Happ and Iverson unable to ever develop as outside threats just clogged everything up with their defenders parked in the lane. Need to find a way to keep the floor spaced and the ball moving next year.

Gard needs to land a decent ranked recruit soon. He was a recruiting specialist and his most famous move so far was loosing Hero. There’s no bigger names on the radar for next year either.

Remember when Trice was shooting 60% from 3 this season?

...neither does he. Disappointed for Happ, KI, and Thomas that the backcourt let them down in the last few weeks.

Frankly, Happ hasn't played well the last couple weeks either. Maybe he just plays bad when I watch him, but despite his numbers, he never really impressed me. KI looked like a player the last couple weeks.

Gard isn't on the hot seat yet, but I think a decision will be made at the end of next year. This senior year was Ryan's last recruitment year. The junior group was a bit of a transition (non-existent) group.

Next year's main contributors (Junior, Soph, and Freshmen) will all be Gard's guys running his offense and defense (I think Happ heavily influenced both of those). If they completely flop and guys are showing minimal development, I think they should be looking elsewhere.

I was really thrilled with Happ's first year, especially after he was able to watch Kaminsky become a dominant college player while Happ was a redshirt. I really thought that maybe the time between his freshman and sophomore year he would work on an outside shot. And I kept waiting and waiting and waiting. Ugh.

To be so good underneath the hoop and be absolutely NOTHING outside of the paint was just terrible. He became one-dimensional and, to me, a disappointment as a basketball player. Was he good? Yes, absolutely! But He didn't even TRY to round out his game a little bit more.
