Awesome to be able to do this!

Win-Loss Record: 92-70

Playoffs: Yes

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: NLCS

All Star Game Representatives: Yelich, Cain, Davies, Knebel

Offensive Player of the Year: Shaw

Pitcher of the Year: Zach Davies, who will make the jump to a TOR-type starter.

Most Surprising Player: Brent Suter, who is going to put up solid #3 numbers. Nelson is also going to come back in early June and be his old self, giving the team a top 5 rotation

Most Disappointing Player: Ryan Braun, because he's going to be fighting injuries again. I hope I'm wrong. Also, Santana will fight injury and ineffectiveness, and the team will be sorry they didn't trade him this offseason ... for whatever was being offered.

Rookie of the Year: Taylor Williams is going to be dominant at the back end of that bullpen. A future closer.

Win/Loss: 86-76

Playoffs: Wild Card

Highest Level: NLDS

ASG Reps: Arcia, Yelich, Shaw, Knebel

Offensive Player of the Year: Cain

Pitcher of the Year: Davies

Most Surprising: Yelich is going to love hitting in Miller Park.

Most Disappointing: Jimmy Nelson, because he'll either try to rush the injury recovery and have a setback, or his return to the rotation will be repeatedly delayed. (No insider knowledge here...it's just expectation management for an injured Brewers starter)

Adding a few team leader predicitons:

Batting average: Ryan Braun - .315

Home Runs: Travis Shaw - 35

RBI: Shaw - 110

SB: Villar - 45

OPS: - Braun - .915

Wins: Davies - 18

ERA: Anderson - 3.15

Saves: Knebel - 40

First call-up (hitter): Broxton

First call-up (pitcher): Guerra

First trade: Jesus Aguilar and Aaron Wilkerson to the Mariners for LHP James Pazos

Deadline acquisition: Brewers get Archer, OF/1B Joe McCarthy, and IF Adames for Santana, Thames, Dubon, and Ortiz

I can't see either of those trades actually happening. Both are weighted way too far in the Brewers favor..

BTW - Adames is a consensus top 40 prospect. Throw out Prospect 361 and he is consensus top 30. Unless the Rays are getting Burnes AND Hiura in return, I see no reason for them to part with Adames in a deal at this time. To get Archer & Adames would strip mine the rest of the Brewers farm system - no thanks.

Well, if you are going to nitpick, turnabout is fair play. Are the Brewers only playing 161 games this year?

While true that Garza/Peralta/Espino etc. are no longer here to get knocked around for 250 innings. I don't believe Suter and Woodruff will regularly pitch deep enough in games, and the bullpen will get worked heavily to pick up the slack. Additionally, there is no replacement for the quality of innings that Nelson gave them, so there is bound to be significant slippage in the pitching staff from last year.

That Cain played in 155 games last year is the outlier. He's hit the DL at some point almost every year, missing over a month in '12, '13 and '16. Odds suggest Cain and Braun will miss significant time with injuries. Will wait and see with Pina, Shaw and Thames. All 3 had a huge first half in 2017 and put up a 2nd half OPS nearly 100 points lower. If the first half of '17 was real they're good players, if the 2nd half was real, they're mediocre players.

Santana is only 25, if he could put the ball in play more instead of striking out, the sky is the limit with his existing on base percentage and power.

Record: 87-75

Playoffs: Yes

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: We lose a one game wild card match with the Cardinals that makes me question my sanity and forty years of Brewer fandom. I'm still ticked off about 2011. If we would have beaten them a couple of additional times during the season, the Cardinals might not have even made the playoffs. Tony LaRussa wouldn't have written a book that I need to buy and burn, etc...

All Star Representative: Yelich

Pitcher of the Year: Knebel

Surprising Player: Suter, I'm still surprised that he made the team and cracked the rotation out of camp. Another 200 innings of 3.00 ERA soft tossing mastery and I'll buy his jersey and adopt his environmental science agenda.

Disappointing Player: Villar, I thought he was a utility guy with tools when we got him from Houston and I'm increasingly convinced that 2016 was an aberration.

The 25 and 40 man rosters are deeper than what is typical for Brewer teams during my tenure. I'm concerned about the true level of talent within the rotation, but I'll cheer for whoever we run out to the bump. Go Brewers.

2018 Brewers Season Predictions

Win-Loss Record: 80-82 (3rd place in division) Predicted NL Central Standings: Chicago Cubs, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Cincy.

Playoffs (Yes, No): No

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: None

All Star Game Representative(s): Yelich, Cain

Offensive Player of the Year: Yelich

Pitcher of the Year: Hader - Pitches well enough (and with others regressing/ having set backs) he gets 3 starts in Sept when team is out of WC race. Team announces his move to rotation in 2019 (a la Chris Sale).

Most Surprising Player: Chacin - posts .500 record with limited run support and being a victim of multiple bullpen/ closer implosions

Most Disappointing Player: Knebel - regresses to point that he is removed from closing. Late innings become roller coaster ride every night.

*Note: Highest playoff level achieved could be “None”, “Wild Card”, “NLDS”, “NLCS”, “World Series”, “WS Champions”

ESPN is pretty darn optimistic about the Brewers.

Preseason rank: 10

Best case scenario: 90+ wins as newcomers help offense and if starting pitching holds up

Worst case scenario: mid-to-low 80's if starting pitching can't pull its weight

Record: 89-73

Playoffs: Yes

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: NLDS (we host and win the WC)

All Star Representative: Yelich, Shaw

Pitcher of the Year: Hader

Surprising Player: Thames - I bet he crushes righties this year

Disappointing Player: Woodruff - I like him a lot but I think people will be disappointed with him this year even if he's serviceable. So not disappointing by my standards if he has, say, a 4.2-4.4 ERA, but I think that would disappoint others.

Yes. Late season rainout at Pittsburg that won't need to be made up.
