Win-Loss Record: 78-84

Playoffs (Yes, No): No

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: -

All Star Game Representative(s):Yelich

Offensive Player of the Year: Yelich

Pitcher of the Year: Davies

Most Surprising Player: Davies, cements himself as a legit FIP beater and dependable ~190 pitch 2/3 starter

Most Disappointing Player: Arcia for long term development/building block guy but just about everyone from last year who was good not being as good and regressing (Shaw, Santana Thames, Anderson, etc.). Thought about Hader but relief pitchers are so volatile that unless his stuff/velo takes a step back i don’t really care what his numbers look like.

I’m pessimistic.....

Win-Loss Record: 83-79

Playoffs (Yes, No):No

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: N/A

All Star Game Representative(s):Domingo Santana

Offensive Player of the Year:Christian Yelich

Pitcher of the Year:Zach Davies

Most Surprising Player:Tristan Archer

Most Disappointing Player:Jhoulys Chacin

Brewers offense carries the Brewers to a winning record while the bullpen unexpectedly underwhelms and Jhoulys Chacin implodes.

Domingo Santana improves upon his 2017 numbers, gets into all-star game and then gets traded shortly after In a mega-deal for James Paxton and Mike Zunino.

Christian Yelich is rock steady all season long for Offensive player of the year.

Same holds true about Zach Davies as Pitcher of the year.

With Chacin producing non-Petco Park numbers and injuries riddling Brewers 4/5 starters, Archer showcases what he can do in a 12 start stint down the stretch to keep the middling Brewers hopes afloat.

018 Brewers Season Predictions

Win-Loss Record: 68-94

Why so low??

Rotation has a chance to be downright awful, especially if an injury or two hits. Probably regression from a few of the heavily used relievers from last year. (Knebal, Albers, Hader) I'm buying low this year.

I'm gonna go with 83 wins. They're talented, but I expect regression and growing pains. I anticipate them giving lots of young guys a chance, with mixed results. The offense will be good, bullpen solid, and rotation a little below average. I think they had pretty good injury luck last year, and you can't count on that to happen again.

All in all, they have a better roster than last year, but they won't have the same good fortune. I wouldn't mind if they sell high on a couple guys and play a lot of young guys in the 2nd half, in which case their win total could be in the 70's. However, I think there's a shortage of qualified wild card contenders after Arizona, so average NL teams will be unlikely to sell at the deadline.

I'm hovering right in the 83ish win range myself. I think it is natural to want/expect better than the year before and hope for growth on a mid 80 win season ... and while I think we got better this off season... I think we overachieved last year so I'm expecting something just north of .500

I'm not as overly concerned about the rotation as some seem to be. We are replacing Nelson and the mind numbing craziness that was our #5 spot in the rotation last year with Chacin and Woodruff. That is a downgrade ... but I don't think it is as bad as people are fearing. Just having the stability of a regular #5 (assuming Woodruff sticks in the rotation permanently) is a big upgrade to having to call Paulo Espino up the night before to see if he wants to pitch in the big leagues the next day.

I can see how some are looking at the rotation as losing Nelson AND expecting regressions from Anderson and Davies ... but I don't personally see any reason to think that CA and ZD are not going to continue to pitch well.

Our offense has the potential to RAKE though.. which could make the starting rotation issues a moot point.

Record: 83/84 wins

Playoffs: No

All Stars: Yelich

OPOY: Yelich

Disappointment of the year: Manny Pina

Biggest Surprise: Jeremy Jeffress

I am way too excited to watch Yelich rake at MP and I am curious how Travis Shaw is going to light people up now that the weight of his daughter's condition is off his shoulders.

Go Crew.
