Alex Cobb (Part 2)

I saw a snapchat of someone's facebook page where they twittered that Cobb has a 110% chance of signing with the Brewers today... unless he doesn't. This came from a verified human.

This is serious?

Im not joking... I'm asking if this is legit?

Really man?

Just surprised to see a mod being a funny man and posting stuff like that.

Did you carefully read his post? "110% chance of signing unless he doesn't." I get how sometimes we can't tell if a poster is using sarcasm, but this is about as obvious as it can be isn't it?

I would imagine mods have senses of humor just like the rest of us.

this stuff going on way too long

Which stuff?

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

The longer this goes the more I'm becoming ok with 2 of Suter, Guerra, Woodruff and the odd man out being the first call up. Gallardo to the pen. Not spending now leaves more flexibility at the deadline. This team has so many regression and bounce back candidates that it's impossible to know what we will actually need. I'm willing to go into the season with what we got and see how it plays out, then fix what needs fixing.

Yep. I was okay with that all along. I like Cain a lot despite his age, but the other big free agents have too many question marks.

If you look at some of the crap pitchers they trotted out there much of the year while still managing to win 86 games, it's hard to believe that they won't be squarely in the wild card chase now that they have legit MLB players filling nearly every roster spot from day 1, even with the likely regression at a few positions.

I hope this hasn't been posted already, but here's a good read on Cobb from Fangraphs a couple weeks back.

For a fan like me, who knew very little about Cobb, the piece does a nice job explaining his struggles post-TJ surgery. In short, he hasn't gotten the feel back for his previously nasty split-changeup.

I'd love to see this pitch every fifth game (& judging from the swing, I think Cain would prefer having that pitch be in his own team's rotation...) --

That was posted 15+ pages ago, but understandable you missed it... with all the other "news" packed in between :)

Hah, well crap. Maybe some other posters missed it like me & it'll be 'like new'

I put it at 80% that multiple other posters won't have seen the story until my post.

If thou throwest high heat, doest we not rush the mound?

I guess, I should've put it in sarcasm blue, but I thought it was over the top enough... As a moderator, I'm pretty sure we are allowed to be funny. ;)

Cobb is no longer in the team's plans. Wade Miley has seen to that.

I am putting that in blue, and hoping that the color remains consistent.

You joke but the better guys like Miley, Suter, Guerra etc. look in Arizona the more it helps the Brewers bargaining position. That could be the sole purpose for signing Miley. For all we know, the Brewers are his preferred destination and have the best offer out there but both sides are waiting this out to see who cracks first. If Cobb starts to think the Brewers will pull an offer, he might jump in at their price.

Should we stick with Guerra over signing Cobb? I mean at least Guerra still throws his splitter.

Bowden said Twins unlikely to sign any of big 3... So if Cobb had us and the Twins... Who the hell else is gonna give him a deal?

Orioles. Cardinals. Nationals. Phillies. Any one of these could get involved with any of the Big 3 left at the right price.
