White Sox Stadium

TURBO

Any White Sox stadium vets with experience?

If I plan to go to a day game in June at the White Sox stadium, and I plan to sit in the lower level, which side of the stadium will see the least sun? In other words, are there better places to sit so we don't just bake all afternoon or doesn't it matter?

Heading to a game June 14th, and would prefer to find some shade if possible, but would still like to be in the lower level...

Thanks!

I have never been, but I do find Google Maps incredibly helpful when going to a game at a new stadium. You can get the N/S layout of the stadium and produce a pretty good estimate of where the shade will be during what parts of the game. It is also great for getting a layout of the area, identifying parking, restaurants, other sights, etc. Make sure you do street view if available and "walk" around to get a better feel.

I think if you sit on the 1st base side you are better than the 3rd base side - your back will be to the sun as it sets in the west.

Same question for a Cubs day game... Anyone have experience at Wrigley?

There it's opposite. Sit on third base side to get shade.

I went to a Scrubs game last year and actually really liked the outfield renovations. The entire outfield is general admission so for $25 I believe you could move anywhere throughout the game. We actually did a stadium tour, which was so/so but was game day so you see less. There was about 3 hours between the tour and game. Was going to go back to our hotel, but asked our tour guide when the stadium would open. He gave us "Ehh, prolly 40 minutes or so". Caught me off guard because of Miller Park rules. We grabbed a burger across the street, and by the time we ate they were letting people in. Outfield being first come first serve you get good seats for showing up early. Plus was in to see both teams batting practice, which is cool to me. Our group of 4 ended up with 3 BP home run balls. In between BP and game the stadium workers let us through a gate in RF to go up and get some pictures behind home plate. If BP is entertaining to you, show up early to Cubs game. They open gates WAY before game time.
