Just finished Schitt's Creek on Netflix. Started slow but it grew on me, and they did a good job slowly developing the characters over time. Every time Hollywood portrays a middle-of-nowhere town, it's amazing how many beautiful people are walking around.

Love the show. Just got to Patrick's proposal. Their relationship just doesn't click for me but I suppose I kind of feel the same way about Alexis and Ted too. They seem like way too different of people to be together and I feel David's character was much more interesting with him single.

I really liked Westworld but it can be really confusing at times. Season 1 is definitely worth your time.

Yup, just started it. On episode 5. I like it so far... Really cool concept.

Deadwood came up earlier in the thread, so I'm surprised there wasn't some talk about the (ridiculous delayed) movie to finally end the series. Obviously, the show ended too early initially for no apparent reason, so having the opportunity to truly end the series with actual resolution was nice as a fan of the show. I thought it was well done considering the circumstances, and I thought the ending fit the tone of the series despite the delay.

Also, while on the topic of HBO shows, the Chernobyl miniseries was fascinating. A must-watch if you're looking for something quick this summer (only 5 episodes). Jared Harris has become one of my favorite "he's in everything and great at it" actors.

Yep, released two weeks ago to finish the series. All of the (still living) cast returned to finish it out.

Must be on HBO?

Yep, on HBO.

Thanks for the information. Will be checking that out at some point.

Pretty sure it will be out on dvd in the near future so I can add it to the Deadwood series.

Just watched the first season of Bosch on Amazon Prime. Really, really good cop show.

It is, I've seen all the seasons. Really good supporting actors, and just a nice pace/ vibe going on.

If you have Prime, Patriot is a top 3 show of all time. Probably my personal favorite, its that good.

Since nobody has mentioned the OA, I'll mention the OA. A quirky mix of sci-fi meta-storytelling and social para-psychology with some multi-dimensional and/or new age malarkey thrown in. If you like M Night Shyamalan's stuff, you'll probably like The OA.

Brit Marling has a very strange intelligent crazy cat-lady vibe to all her that is both enchanting and revolting. She's made a bunch of interesting indie movies over the last 10 years (along with Zat Batmanglij and Mike Cahill; The Sound of My Voice, Another Earth, The East, I, Origins) and many of the themes from those movies come together in the OA.

It's one of those things that might be over-the-top pretentious, but I can't stop watching. The last episode in season 1 has the most ridiculous climax of a show I've ever seen. Season 2 gets weirder, but also actually explains a lot of the crazy loose ends that you are sifting around throughout all of season 1.

Great to see some other Bosch fans on here. It's definitely must watch for me each time the new season is produced on Amazon Prime. Good story line and pacing, plus seeing some faces from The Wire is nice to see. Another season is in the works already, so something to look forward to in Spring 2020.

Almost done with season 2 of Westworld.

Meh.

Starting season 1 of Game of Thrones next. I am that guy, the one who has never seen a single episode of GoT.

That is about to change.

This isn't a dig at anyone but how do you people have the time to watch so many shows? I have like 4 or 5 that I try to keep up with but I'm generally weeks behind all of them. I'll read about some show that sounds like I would like it but ultimately decide I don't even have time for the stuff I'm already watching so I can't add any more.

Make a commitment to get all the way through season 1 of GoT. Takes a bit to get all the families and characters straight.

I watched my first episode about a month ago.

It's EXACTLY how I thought it would be, and that's not a compliment. I kept watching til the middle of season 3 because I wanted more of the characters (except for the Stark kids) to die, but they never did. Soulless fantasy porn devoid of any redeeming qualities. The sheer hollowness of substance in GoT is rivaled only by outer space and the bookshelves of 20th century philosophers. I've met strains of streptococcus that have more heart than any character in that show.

This isn't my normal genre by any means. But I was pretty much hooked after the end of the first episode. Then the Ned storyline in season hooked me all the way.

Funny you mention you quit middle of season 3. Let's just say if you made a few more episodes you'd have got what you wanted in probably the best episode of the series and one of the biggest shockers in TV. Stuff no other show has done

For ability to watch, yes having no kids is the key. Two TVs in living room is big too. Put sports on the silent TV, you can still watch and see what's going on while watching another show. I don't care what the announcers say anyway and there is a ton of downtown in sports that you don't need to watch(especially baseball and football).

We're empty nesters, probably main reason. We don't watch nearly as much during the summer, except for the Brewers and IGTs.

But when it's -80 and dark for 20 hours of the day, lots of time to binge watch. Plus, virtually all the shows we watch are streaming, and they generally have less episodes. For example, new season of Sneaky Pete just dropped and we saw the whole season over 3 days because there's only 10 episodes. That's like 2 1/2 hours per night, so no different than a Brewers game or some movies.

As for GOT, I'm not paying for HBO so I'll never see a minute of it.

Netflix- When They See Us

Hard watch but very good. Very sad to see those lives changed by some pretty awful people in the justice system.
