I just finished season 1 of Lost in Space on Netflix, and I liked (didn't love) it. They made a few changes to the formula, enough to make it fresh. Definitely worth checking out.

I binged season 4 of Peaky Blinders this week, and that's made its way into my top 5 favorite shows of all time. The ending of Season 4 pretty much left me speechless. Cillian Murphy's portrayal of Tommy Shelby is brutal and amazing. Adding Aidan Gillen and Adrian Brody to the cast for season 4 was fantastic.

Just binge watched both seasons of October Road. It was a short lived series (2 seasons) from I think 2007 or 2008.

Just love it!!

It got cancelled after it's second season (which bothers me to this day) and didn't get to resolve anything, so on the DVD issue, there is a short "ending episode" that did not air which at the very least ties it up nicely.

For whatever reason, this show hit a nerve with me, and is one of my favorites of all time.

New TV season a couple weeks in.

Started watching Single Parents, as I'm a fan of Taran Killem. Ok show, I'll stick with it.

Superstore has really upped their Office feel this season. Even down to the Amy/Jonah relationship mirroring Jim/Pam in lots of ways. Am I the only one thinking it will turn out to be Garrett's baby that Dina has?

I think we’d get along well.

I’ve been keen on Superstore since its first season, but did not consider that Dina’s baby may be Garrett’s until just now. The two new sitcoms I’ve started this year are Single Parents on ABC and I Feel Bad on NBC - too early to tell on either, but early returns are good.

The 3 shows my wife and I watch together are Last Man Standing, Splitting Up Together, and The Goldbergs.

The Goldbergs is the best current network sitcom, in my opinion.

Dina having Garrett's baby only occurred to me at the end of last season for some reason. The timing between their relationship and her pregnancy don't quite add up, but it's TV and that hasn't stopped them before. It would be quite fitting for Glenn and his hard luck character and he and his wife would probably raise the kid as their own anyway. The whole pregnancy storyline doesn't seem to have much of a payoff unless there's a twist at the end and that would certainly be a twist with having a little bit of logic to it.

To me, the commercials and the little bit of the pilot I watched when they released it for I Feel Bad look horrible. No interest in watching that show. I barely have enough to time to keep up with the shows I watch, I can't keep adding new ones.

The first three episodes of South Park this season were so bad I thought the whole #CancelSouthPark marketing campaign was Matt and Trey literally sabotaging their own show because they didn't want to do it anymore. Tergrity Farms changed that. Great episode. Well, any Randy episode is great.

I thought the first episode of the school shootings was good. Not for the shootings but how it has been completely ignored with no real societal changes. But yes, Tegrity Farms was great. A second fight montage of Randy rocky-style was great!

And it's been a running gag in every episode this season. I thought their mocking of it was another thing they were doing to try and get cancelled. People get offended over every thing they do but I thought making light of school shootings was an attempt to push it so far that CC would just pull the plug on them.

I only watched the shooting specific episode as I don't really watch SP, but was told by friends to watch that one. I don't know, since it would be the gun rights people being offended here I don't think they care too much about offending those people. Sure, they are making light of it since it's a comedy show but their point on it as that it's ridiculous that this continues to happen and we do nothing as a society. So in a sense they are on the right side of the issue or at least the side that is valuing kids lives so I don't think they're offending victims so to speak. Basically, they're mocking the people content with doing nothing. Not mocking the kids/victims themselves, if that makes sense.

Patriot

Has anyone watched this show? (on Amazon Video.) Very quirky. Is it a drama? comedy? Can't really put it in a box, which I why I really liked it. Got mixed reviews, and I can see how people didn't like it as I almost stopped after the first episode.

One of those shows that needs your full attention to really get into the mood of the show, catch all the subtle humor, flashback/ flash forward scenes, etc. I guess I loved it because it's very different, and really loved how it was produced, casting, etc. the more I watched it.

I love Chicago PD!

I let several episodes build up on the dvr, then binge it...

Just a great show!

It is my favorite of the three (Med, Fire, PD). It's a pretty great thing when they all flow together.

While I don't think it will be, the season finale of South Park felt a lot like a series finale. I think they may have even referenced my theory that they used this season to try and get cancelled when the boys said something like "everything gets cancelled because people get offended but no matter what we do we can't get people mad enough to get cancelled" and then lamenting about "how much longer can we do this?"

We always want a lighter show to go along with whatever heavy drama we're in. We're rewatching the Office for probably the 10th time.

I do similar, just fluff stuff on in the background. Others on Netflix would be Parks and Rec, New Girl, and Cheers. You'd be surprised how well Cheers holds up

I believe 'Valley of the Boom' officially debuts this Sunday on the History Channel, but the 1st two episodes are currently available on demand on Spectrum (and also probably on any History channel access if you don't have cable). Watched both of them, really enjoying it so far.

I watched them both as well, mixed feelings. The format is weird, I would have preferred they went with either a true documentary or a factual made for TV series. Instead it's a strange combo, and it's distracting. I'm always open to playing with the format, I just don't love how they're doing it here. Still, intriguing enough I'll probably watch the rest.

I like the format. Switching back and forth between the actors in a docudrama format and the actual people in more of a true documentary format is interesting to me and I think it gives more credibility to the actors depiction of real events. I also enjoy the quirkiness of occasionally breaking down the 4th wall and some of the "one-off skits" like the rappers explaining things during the Netscape-Microsoft meeting. It's different and interesting to me.
