Caught up with the new season of Barry. I don't quite think that the overarching story is as compelling as previous seasons, although I am enjoying seeing various chickens coming home to roost. However,  I think the individual episodes are as strong as ever and the series probably hasn't been funnier.

the last episode ("what did you put in the sauce") was the best of the series, IMO

Final season of Peaky Blinders released on Friday.

Spoiler

For as emotional a sendoff as they gave Tommy at the last family gathering, and as glad as I thought I was supposed to be that his diagnosis was a fake, I felt like they already pulled the "lol he's not dead" with Arthur back a few seasons ago, and it kind of robbed the previous scene of the really solid impact it was supposed to have. Nevertheless......

The final season was a fantastic ending, and they left just enough loose storyline to make that movie they want to make (if they're so inclined), and wrapped up a lot of others, if indeed this is the end of the line for the series altogether.

To continue on, I thought BARRY really nailed its season finale. It went a lot further than I thought it would in bringing in consequences. Really well done all around and maybe the funniest season too.

It almost felt like a series finale but I believe they have one more season.

As a longtime fan of the comics, I'm enjoying The Sandman on Netflix. I have some quibbles, but they're nailing the ideas, themes, and characters. I'm 7 episodes in, but I feel that 4, 5, and 6 have been the season standouts. And they've made some smart choices in rearranging things for television and introducing characters much earlier on.

Just have to say that while I enjoyed the first two seasons of The Orville during its Fox run, the newest Hulu season was phenomenal. This show is more in the spirit of Roddenberry's original Star Trek than any Trek show out there currently. Bravo to Seth McFarlane for taking his nerdy passion project up to the level it has become.

During the past week I caught up on...

Reacher (Prime) -- I liked it.  Truer to the books than Tom Cruise

The Man in the High Tower (Prime), Season 1 -- not sure I'm going to watch season 2

Watched a few movies, too, but that is out of scope for this thread ;)

I enjoyed Reacher.  I will watch a follow up season if they have it.  The wife enjoyed it too, so I think thats a positive.

I haven't even been able to re-watch any Game of Thrones since the last season was so bad it gave me no desire to see any of it.  Heard good things about House of the Dragon and decided to give it a try.  It's very good.  Not sure how much momentum it can keep and not feel like rehashing the same stuff over and over again, but so far it's enjoyable.  Daemon and the Sea Snake were awesome characters in the book, and they're also the two best in the show so far.

We watched the first episode of the new Quantum Leap. I really enjoyed it. Pretty much same show & set up as the original seires. I hope it can hang on for awhile, though I'm always afraid to get attached to new shows.

I'm late to the party, but "1883" is freaking awesome!

All of that guys shows have been great. Taylor Sheridan I think. Something like that. But Yellowstone, 1883. The next one is 1923...so, ya know, they're not the most creative in coming up with Titles, but outstanding acting. I believe that'll feature Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

He also did Bass Reaves and he has a massive 200M dollar deal to develop more shows like Yellowstone(1883 and 1923 2 of them).

I think he's also doing something about the KC Mob with Stallone.

One of my favorites as a kid. I like how it's not just re-creating it, but it's kinda building on it.

Really enjoyed the first episode of The Last of Us. I have zero familiarity with the source material. I'd be curious if people that have played the game like it or not.
