Big Bang theory is great. i did run its course at the end, probably shortly after penny and sheldon get married.

I was the first 2 seasons of young sheldon and stopped. its not bad, its just have only so much time for TV and I didn't think of it as can't miss TV.

I only watched a few episodes of this and read this as Penny and Sheldon got married...to each other. I had to go look it up. ha.

As far as murder mystery/drama/detective show/time travel/mind bender/ plot twist/horror shows go, I'm one season into Dark on Netflix, and it's pretty good. you definitely can't be doing other things while you're watching, or your'e going to miss plot points and character introductions and key exposition, but it's pretty good so far.

Not sure if it got mentioned earlier in the thread, sorry if so. But it's good through one season.

Yeah Dark is kind of amazing.

If anyone likes horror, Archive 81 on Netflix is pretty good.

Just started to re-watch "Community" last week.

Good stuff...

The last time I sat down to watch linear, scripted TV was the 2009-2010 Thursday night lineup on NBC:

Community

Parks & Recreation

The Office

30 Rock

I don’t think you’ll find a better night of sitcoms in the history of television. In the 90s, NBC ran Friends & Seinfeld together and Friends & Frasier together, but never all 3 on the same night regularly.

Agreed, but I never was a fan of 30 Rock. I used to watch the first 3, then turn the channel or do something else... Can't even tell you why.

Was having fun watching The Peacemaker on HBO - was bummed that it's a weekly release show...boo.

I'm really enjoying this one and that's coming from someone that's gotten pretty tired of the comic book genre. The soundtrack in particular is right up my Gen X alley :)

Another one I am enjoying is Murderville on Netflix. Pretty funny. Marshawn Lynch doing improv.

Has anyone checked out The Afterparty on Apple TV?

I wasn't going to bother with Peacemaker, but still being off work I decided to binge it yesterday.

I'm really impressed that the show manages to balance tackling some serious and current social issues head-on, with having some almost slapstick and over the top hero/villain archetypes at the same time.

I watched Reacher over the weekend on Amazon. Wasn't the greatest show but was a little bit entertaining kind of gave off a bad 80's or 90's action hero vibe. Kind of follows the script that is written for the Rock when he is in an action movie.

Anyone watching 1883 or Mayor Of Kingstown?

I had set my DVR to record both shows, but only the first 3 episodes recorded, then it stopped. When I look ON DEMAND, only those three episodes are available.

I am wondering if the rest of those shows are only available on their (Paramount plus)streaming site?

Both shows have at least 8 or so episodes, so that has to be the case.

Yeah, believe you need Paramount+ to watch the full runs of 1883 & Kingstown.

Haven't been watching Kingstown, but episode 7 just dropped for 1883 I believe.

Maybe wait a couple weeks until all the episodes have dropped & sign up for a free month trial then cancel?

I got P+ for The Challenge: All Stars (which has ruled, so totally worth it). They also have some of the older MTV comedy shows like The State & Wonder Showzen that have been fun to revisit. Wonder Showzen especially just gets funnier & funnier as the world devolves more & more.

Just started to re-watch "Community" last week.

Good stuff...

Excellent show. Kinda went off the rails Season 4 when they fired Dan Harmon, but Season 5 and 6 were pretty great again, even though they weirdly retired Chevy Chase's character.

Chase kind of did that to himself. No one liked him. And then when he was asked to do some scenes toward the end of the season - he just refused - and left the set. Never came back. Everyone just kind of washed their hands of him at that point.

Chase has been notorious for that type of behavior his entire career. He's always been a diva. You get what you pay for with him.

For the past couple decades he's been running around Hollywood trying to get work because nobody will go near him. When he joined Community I figured he'd work hard to change, being that it was clearly his last chance at redemption. But nope.

I'm bungling this story, but I guess many years ago Chevy was in a movie with a first-time director. Chevy was so difficult to work with that he made the director quit. It being Hollywood you'd normally figure quitting your first movie would be a career-ending move. But as the director tells it, he'd tell producers about why he quit his first job and they would say "No, if it was Chevy then that makes sense."

I'm sure he expected to the "the man" on Community, but the audience ended up gravitating toward Joel McHale's and Donald Glover's characters, so most storylines eventually focused on them, with some going quirky with Danny Pudi as the lead. His role after awhile was basically slapstick one-liners and being a foil for the main characters. I'm sure the way his character was written had a lot to do with his on-set behavior. The other actors didn't want much to do with him.
