Just watched the first 2 episodes of wandavision. It's pretty cute and I kinda feel like that always sunny conspiracy board meme right now.

Never really been a comic book reader, haven't seen anything in the MCU...but I am super intrigued by WandaVision. Will definitely be checking it out.

Also, not sure how many here have ever had the pleasure of seeing John Luries's show from the early 1990's Fishing with John, where he took celeb guests like Dennis Hopper, Willem Dafoe, Tom Waits & Jim Jarmusch on ramshackle angling excursions around the world, but it looks like his new show Painting With John premieres on HBO this Friday.

If you didn't watch the MCU films that lead up to WandaVision, I would recommend watching the "Marvel Legends" episodes for Scarlet Witch and Vision, since they basically feed you the portions of the movie which set up the series. It's part of the Disney+ subscription, which I signed up for on Friday to watch the show.

Personally, I loved the first two episodes, which is hardly a surprise since I grew up on the MCU source material. While I feel like I have a good "sense" of the what and the why for the series, I am curious to see how the story plays out, and particularly the impact on the characters...particularly the ones being introduced (in some cases, reintroduced) in the series, which is said to tie directly into the next Dr. Strange film.

After the year off...it's nice to have something Marvel to watch again!

After WW:84 which was just bad from after the beginning of the movie to the end. I don't know why but DC movies just suck and I think it is partially to do with the writing and partially due to the villains that they are using as being boring and having no character behind them.

Thanks for the heads up, those Marvel Legends character shorts definitely provided some helpful context. The previews having that Truman Show/Philip K. Dick constructed reality vibe was enough to pique my curiosity & I thought the first two episodes definitely delivered.

We got Disney+ in December to watch the Mandalorian, but are currently burning through the 20 MCU movies (in chronological order) to get to End Game. Then I figure to pop over to Wandavision.

Anyone know why the new Spiderman movies aren't considered part of the MCU End Game canon, despite him joining the fight in Civil War and some carry-over from the Spiderman movies (i.e. his and Tony Stark's relationship).

They are ... but the Spiderman movies are distributed by Sony Entertainment and not Marvel Studios. It was part of the agreement that Sony signed with Disney to give Disney (Marvel Studios) creative control of the Spiderman movies after Sony's attempts with Andrew Garfield bombed. I would imagine those Spiderman movies will eventually end up on Disney+, but probably not for awhile.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s 8th season is being delayed until 2021-22. It will be the final season and consist of only 10 episodes. I guess they had trouble writing a police-themed work place comedy in the current environment. I’m disappointed to see the show end, but glad to see they will be getting a proper finale instead of just pulling the plug.

I'm fine with it. It hasn't been that good lately (title of my sex tape.)

I watched the first season of the sci-fi show 'The Expanse' on Amazon Prime. Really impressed thus far.

Season one and two were done by Syfy season 3-5 is done by Amazon. Season 3 and 5 are my favorite seasons I didn't like season 4 as much as the others and season 2 can drag a bit here and there.

That's cool. I loved the world-building and crazy fun points of view the story provided. Kudos to the script writers for weaving in so many compelling story lines. Looking forward to more. And I don't mind a little slow burn on a story. As long as the payoff is worth it.

Ha. Yeah, it lost something when it moved from Fox to NBC. At Fox, B99 had 5 consecutive 22-episode seasons that ran September through May. At NBC, it’s been used as a mid-season replacement and had seasons of 18, 13, and now 10 episodes. I’m still looking forward to the finale.

I realllly wanted to like The Expanse. 4k is stunning, and I'm always up for a good sci-fi series. But I got through 2 episodes, and I just couldn't continue. Acting/ casting was just too corny, they couldn't hold up to the writing, which seems like a really interesting story. Hard to explain, almost like sci-fi made for network tv or something.

I will give Wandavision another episode or two. The first couple better be setting up something good because they really sucked.

Agree. Wish they would have cut out one. I didn't really like the series at all until towards the end of the third episode. I would have been ok if they had made that the first.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

I binge watched the Brady Bunch this past weekend. I've had the entire series on DVD for years but never got around to watching.

I might be made fun of for saying this, but that show is just soooooo good.

Brings me back to a much simpler day. I remember watching the show on tv as a kid, then re-runs after schhol years later.

Just plain classic tv when every show didnt have a back-talking brat (or 3) and parenting was actually taking place. It is nice to see morals being taught with strong family life examples.

Such a classic show!

WandaVision hasn't been "great" but the easter eggs and tie ins have been really well done. I think the show has been good and the pacing is fine.

The reveal of the Fox/X-Men Pietro in the last two episodes was awesome (IMO) and gives Disney and Feige a way to introduce the X-Men and other Fox characters that I don't think people had really considered.

I think the show is really weird and it's still trying to find it's footing with some fans, but for long time comic book readers and big time nerdy fan boys, it's been a treat waiting for it to drop every week.

Guilty as charged. Regarding your spoiler

I'm not sure that's X-Men's Quicksilver, since the character has memories - including his death - which trace back to the MCU's version, albeit looking very different from the MCU's Quicksilver. Much like Vision - who may or may not still be "dead" outside the Hex - it's telling that the things the characters know about themselves are those qualities which Wanda would have known / thought about them; which is why Quicksilver says he was shot down "for no reason." I think it's more of the production team having fun with the "re-casting" meta-joke than an attempt to pull the "Reverse House of M" trick, thereby introducing mutants to the MCU.

Speaking of the Hex...they're actually going to call Wanda the Scarlet Witch at some point down the stretch, I have to believe.

There is so much to love about this show, from the homages to classic TV sitcom opening sequences, to Jimmy Woo's card-trick in Episode 4, to the home-made versions of the characters' classic costumes in Ep. 6. I can't wait to see what happens in the final 3 episodes, particularly around the central mystery of how Wanda came into these powers, which are much closer to her comics powers than we've seen in the MCU to-date.

I have also been wondering, since she first showed up, whether Monica Rambeau has her powers yet, and I still can't tell whether this is her origin story, or the reveal she already has powers; she didn't seem too concerned about either revelation regarding her health. I also want to know who she was planning on meeting this episode, in order to get back into the Hex.

Then there's also the timing question, since this series appears to have taken place just after "the blip," placing it before "Spider-Man: Far From Home." Is this series going to end with Nick Fury taking the reigns at S.W.O.R.D., given where we've seen his next appearance? It's pretty safe to say that Hayward will be getting his come-uppance rather soon.

Finished season 1 of The Wire over the weekend. Absolutely fantastic. Thanks to those that suggested it- I've heard very good things over the years from a lot of people, but glad I finally dove in. Very excited for S2.

A lot of people don't like season 2, fwiw. Mostly due to one of the characters. Just a heads-up, hang in there just in case you don't love season 2 quite as much.
