Lucas Sims

Rumor has it that the Braves are about to add an OF for "depth".

Keon Broxton?

I could see something like a Keon Broxton for Lucas Sims type swap.

Or the Braves have a bevy of young RHP and LHP with higher upside that the Brewers could target to re-stock their farm.

Lucas Sims is a 2012 1st round pick who is MLB-ready and I feel a bit of an underrated arm, albeit with some control issues.

He usually has struggled a bit at each minor league level but then shown vast improvement. Also, has averaged more than a K an innings throughout minor league career to date.

Thoughts?

I don't hate the idea as a target, assuming he has options remaining which I'm sure he does. I don't think Broxton is enough to get Sims though, we would have to add at least a mid level prospect(Gatewood/Grisham) possibly more. Sims wouldn't be a terrible target as piece number 3 in a Santana deal. Maybe ask for a good prospect, Sims, and a flier. Their system is so strong that even getting their 3rd or 4th best pitching prospect probably doesn't hurt them.

Sims hasn't been a highly regarded prospect for a few years now and bombed in his first MLB go-around. He's only 23 and I'm definitely not counting him out, but IMO he does not have any more value than Broxton and I'd think a straight-up trade of the two would favor the Braves.
