Former major league pitcher Esteban Loaiza has been arrested in San Diego for possession of heroin and cocaine over 20 kilograms, possession of narcotics for sale, and possession and transportation of narcotics for sale.

 

Amazing what a guy who made $43M in his career can get involved in.

 

Loaiza pitched for the Pirates, Rangers, Blue Jays, White Sox, Yankees, Nationals, Athletics and Dodgers.

Most of these guys come into money at a young age with very little financial experience or education. Spend money as soon as they get it and retirement isn't considered. The lifestyle of constantly being on the road or having an entourage that thinks you've won the lottery. It can go quickly.
