Whatever happened to Daniel Missaki?

Daniel Missaki was one of the three pitchers acquired in the Adam Lind trade back in December, 2015, but I've not heard a peep about him since he was acquired. Now I know Missaki had Tommy John surgery in May 2015, and he certainly hasn't pitched since then. Does anyone know what is up with him? Is he even still with the organization?

We noted here a while ago that Missaki required a second (back-to-back) surgery. Whether the second surgery could be deemed officially as Tommy John (the first was), is unclear. But certainly they were related.

 

Seems we should see him on a mound in 2018.

Thanks for the info Maas. I know some people at the time of the Lind trade thought Missaki might have the best potential of the three pitchers acquired, which would really be something considering the emergence of both Freddy Peralta and Carlos Herrera from that same trade. Would be great if Daniel at least got a chance to show off what he's got.
