Here is what is amazing - imagine this Opening Day 2019 lineup:

cf: Cain

rf: Yelich

1b: Aguilar

2b: Shaw

lf: Braun

3b: Moustakas

ss: Schoop

c: Pina

Pitcher

I think 2019 will be even better than 2018! :)

Why imagine that lineup with an eye towards 2019 when it could be done right now ?

OH, I wish, but Arcia's there.

He's rapidly overtaking Jim Gantner as my all-time LEAST favorite Brewer. Same reason - an offensive black hole.

You seem to have forgotten that Yuni B was a Brewer and actually started way too long for them.

I’m pretty sure it isn’t absurd to say he wasn’t on pace (really nowhere near) to get to 7 WAR a week ago. Because that is all I was doing. I will wait for you to quote yourself on how you predicted him to OPS like 1.400 this week and get to 7.4.

I did some preliminary calcs and Yelich's lead in the batting title is pretty secure. Someone in the .310 area or so would need a 4-4 or 5-5 day and Yelich would need to go 0 for Sunday and the potential Game 163 for it to be maybe possible. Oddly enough Can might have the best shot because he might get the extra game. He's got the HR as long as Carpenter doesn't hit one today though the possibility that the Rockies have to play 2 games with Story and Arenado sitting at 35 each gives them a chance to take that portion of the crown. The 2 RBIs to catch Baez are certainly possible even without some HRs.

I agree. Incredibly obnoxious, especially when everyone should just be happy about such an incredible run.

By the way, your numbers are way off. His SLG alone is 1.500 for the last 7 games. His OPS is over 2.100.

If there was another week left in the season, with the way Yelich has been playing, I think he could have made a run at the triple crown.

bumping for enjoyment.

Thanks for the catch, I was trying to refer to SLG.

If people could stop dredging up old posts to play "gotcha" that would be cool. Thanks.

Unless, of course, you want to dredge up one of your own posts that is perfectly fine. :)

This was from Tuesday and I’m pretty sure I was as the first one to mention the shot at the triple crown but I’m really glad I was “wrong” on the original post. I already called myself out last night, why didn’t yiu quote that one?

That wasn't meant as a call out, that was meant as a "Holy crap, he has a shot at a triple crown!"

No one could have expected a week or 2 ago, that he'd be in the conversation for a triple crown...

Far from a call out, more so a post in amazement, and enjoyment, as stated.

Yeah but people are doing so much of that bumping stuff in an obnoxious way that it's hard to give anyone the benefit of the doubt any more.

Well, I can honestly say that was not meant as a negative post or call out! This day is too glorious for such nonsense!

Couple questions pop up right away.

1) Another trade has to follow this, yes? We are still 5 deep in the outfield. Will it be a minor move with Broxton or a major one with Santana? My guess is Santana is the guy to go as we would be selling high on him and we would be selling low on Broxton.

2) Where is he playing? Right now, he is in CF with Santana/Braun in the corners. If Santana is moved... does Braun slide to right so Yelich can play his gold glove position?

3) I may be wrong here, but Yelich seems like a perfect #2 hitter to me and I think most are going to pencil him into the lead off spot. Is Villar going to be given a shot to take the lead off spot initially with a Yelich/Braun/Shaw/Santana/Thames follow up? I'm mentally preparing for a Santana trade ... but as it currently stands that 2-6 is pretty nasty.

I love Yelich in Milwaukee. I think we just added an MVP candidate for the next 3+ years.

I'm just a dumb boy who doesn't know anything about anything... but it feels good to have a hunch go your way once in awhile ;)

I don’t get how only two teams made serious offerers. It just does not make very much sense. I mean...two? The Marlins absolutely blew that trade. Did the GM give every team 60 seconds to call and he only had time to field two offers? What a fail.

Incredible to get a guy who did not get a single vote last year to garnering 29/30 first place votes this year. I’m not sure how the rest of Yelichs time will go here, but considering the fact he was on the rise, proven stud, and controllable at a cheap cost this may end up the biggest trade robbery in MLB history.
