Klement's out as Racing Sausages' sponsor; Johnsonville in (see reply #24)

I don't think they have a hot dog product, a chorizo product, or a polish sausage product-- at least not on their website, or in their current retail product line.

But, they were the sausage provider at County Stadium from 1978 to 1988 and the press release said they were producing those (plus bratwurst and Italian sausage) at Miller Park this year.

About time!!! Klement's brats were horrible. I heard out of staters that tried a brat at the ballpark always say "These are nothing special" or "this brat thing is terrible". It was actually embarrassing being a Wisconsinite.

Johnsonville brats are king! And should be the new sponsor.

And in no way am I affiliated with Johnsonville.

I posted that yesterday and people don't believe me on here!

I agree with you HighHeat19. I pretty much eat anything and I could not stand Klement's brats. I haven't ever had a Usinger's brat, but I've heard mixed reviews on them too. For big-company brats Johnsonville are the way to go. Now, being up in the Stevens Point area, I tend to bring Ski's brats to most Brewers games. If you haven't tried them, you should! For the record, I am not affiliated with any of these companies either... I just like to eat tasty food.

They've definitely got chorizo and Italian, I think I remember seeing a Polish style sausage too. I'd love for them to bust out the patties at MP, if for no other reason, it would be harder for the foodservice people to massacre a burger bun like they do the sausage buns. [sarcasm]Plus, the new racing sausage Mrs. Patty Griller[/sarcasm]

On another sausage note, as people have mentioned some Wisconsin gems, here's one: If you find yourself up in Superior, do yourself a favor and head south on 35 to South Superior. Superior Meats has all around top notch stuff. Their brats are more expensive than most you'll find, but absolutely worth it.

Does Johnsonville make hot dogs? If not, who will be the hot dog provider?

Great point there is no mention of hotdogs. Personally I loved when chermake was a sponsor. I can’t see them not offering them at Miller park

The absence of hot dog mention in the blog post was very noticeable. FWIW, Cher-Make is the hot dog supplier at Badger sporting events.

Part of me still can't quite believe this is a real topic of discussion. :)

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Good stuff, always like me some Johnsonville. Plus it's a national brand. You can find Johnsonville anywhere in the country versus Klement's is mostly a midwest thing.

The Johnsonville sizzling sausage grill is money as well, cooks sausages perfectly in 10 minutes or so. Nice in the winter months when you don't care to run outside to get 'em on the grill.

I've always been confused by all the sausage sponsorship's and the Brewers. Klements sponsored the racing sausages, but Uecker promoted Usingers and there were Usingers commercials during Brewer games. I also feel like I have heard Johnsonville advertising during Brewer games (not just in the 80s, but more recently). Same with insurance. I believe West Bend, American Family, and AllState all have signs on the outfield wall.

Jim, they do indeed make Polish...

Good to know...though they better make a fresh variety for Miller Park. That heat & eat stuff will NOT make me feel cherished.

Just got back from Woodman's with packs of Klements and Johnsonville fresh polish sausage. I'm doing a taste test this weekend.

I want one of those so bad. Should make it a premium giveaway, I would be there.

Pretty negative, guys. That's out of bounds for a non-baseball topic. Better lock down the thread.

If you can't see the difference between this thread and that one then I don't know what to tell ya.

One was discussing the validity of a Brewers theme day on a morally divisive topic, planned for the first time this year at Miller Park. The other is discussing beloved Brewers hot dogs and sausages. There's the difference.

If both are considered non-baseball topics, then the negativity and petty back and forth should be treated equally- lock down the topic like the other was. If both are considered topics related to the Brewers, again lock it down like the last was for the negativity and needless combative words.

If the topic of morality is the difference between the two and you don't want that kind of stuff discussed here, you should take a hard stance against the Brewers themselves promoting these type of days, whatever side of the issue you're on. If it's not ok in your view here, then why there? Instead, silence reigns. Don't discuss it. Don't write abou it. Yet the Brewers can hold a themed day publically celebrated to the masses on it?

Respectfully, If you can't see the hypocracy, then I don't know what to tell ya.

Surprised at the Johnsonville love. I've never liked them. Poor filler, very greasy when you grill them, just no.

I've always liked Klements among the mass-produced brats. Best brats I had period were ones my family used to buy from a local grocery in Burlington, but that was years ago.
