How? He's probably going to spend most of the year in the minors making peanuts and now he can make more money and be closer to home.

Yes, he is making a selfish decision. And he has every right to do so. But I also have every right to call him a bum we wasted time and resources on.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Did you feel the same way about Jungmann?

I actually think the Brewers are setting a terrible precedent this offseason by allowing Wang and Jungmann to go.

If you get upset at the last 2 pitchers on the roster leaving then I worry about your personal well being if someone good decides to bolt.

Upset? :laughing Making mountains out of mole hills around here. Said good riddance and called him a bum. Some get ********* (but-t hurt is blocked? Comical) by that for whatever reason. Personal well-being. That’s great stuff.

Every MLB does this. This is not a terrible precedent or something only the Brewers do.

Two guys we have kept on our roster above other players like the guy we lost a few weeks ago and the guy in last years draft. These two could have helped our pen in the future and we let them walk, for nothing. It just doesn’t seem all to smart of the roster construction.

Yes.

Funny, I didn't see you call him a bum when we let him leave.

Oh? Okay. Next time I’ll make sure to post it. It’s probably to do more with the fact that this is the second one in a couple of days. Couple of quitters. But I guess I’ll just fall in line with others.

Good luck boys! I sure hope you make so much money over there. Hope we will see you stateside some day! Hugs and kisses!

They better? My god, move on.

Hey, I am really sorry to hear Wang didn’t sign your ball/card. I am sure he didn’t mean anything by it.

Obviously we didn’t want them, no MLB team wanted to trade for them, and the only thing interested in these two pitchers(that they also wanted) was a foreign league. Giving them to foreign teams doesn’t mean anything or make us look bad. We literally did what was considered in the players best interest. We probably look good if anything.

I don’t see why you are so up in arms about this. Clearly they had little chance to make a MLB impact this year and we didn’t even want to keep them around. Would you be this upset if we just released them? What is the difference. If we planned on any use with them they would still be here.

Not upset. Not up in arms. Just have a different stance on the issue. So like most things on this forum, if you have a different stance it’s not okay. Most likely we’ll all forget they even were in our system. Just more to the point that we have let other guys get picked up by other teams while we kept these two. And then, we let them head to Korea without really getting anything. Calling them bums really is a nothing to see here comment made a much larger issue for what reason, I’m not really sure. Villar is called worse and he’s actually helped us.

Let's just chalk this up to the fact it's January. Nothing else to talk or argue about.

Agreed. My bad fellas. Really didn’t mean to offend anyone.

I had more hope for Jungmann than Wang in terms of an MLB future. That they both had good years in the batting cage called Colorado Springs was pretty legitimately impressive.

I can't imagine the FO thought both guys had meaningful MLB promise but capriciously decided to blow them off anyway, letting them just waltz off to Asia. The Brewers tipped their hand on Jungmann in September by not bringing him up when he had a roster spot and they had a legit SP need. Obviously they had their reasons, and I suspect the same was the case for Wang.

Like many here, I find not knowing those reasons a little frustrating, but I don't think Stearns & Co. are fools because their actions don't jive with my fan/armchair opinions.

Blame falls on Roenicke who refused to pitch him in any situation unless the game was a total blowout and took away a year of development from him. There's no reason he shouldn't have been used as a semi-LOOGY. And honestly, we still have no idea what he is. He threw more than 5 pitches and faced multiple batters in 1 appearance last year. That's like giving a batter 10 sporadic PA over a month and trying to make any judgement about him. You can't.

I don't think there was anyway Roenicke could have pitched Wang more than he did. 10.90 ERA, 2.19 WHIP, 35 ERA+, 7.69 FIP. Couldn't even really be used as a lefty specialist because lefties slashed a pretty ridiculous .333/.379/.630/1.009 off of him. The guy may or may not have had a future but in 2014 he shouldn't have been within 10 miles of a major league clubhouse.

I will say though that I would have liked to have seen him earlier and more often last year. But when it was all said and done, when he did get his chance he couldn't get anybody out.

Roenicke sucked, but Wang had no business being on an MLB roster in 2014, so he did the right thing by trying to bury him on it.

As we all recall 2014 was a contending season almost all the way, so playing a man down both on the roster and the bullpen all the way up until the AS break was probably not a very smart move.
