Brewers Sign Yovani Gallardo (Update, reply #198: Signs MLB deal w/CIN, 1 yr/$750K guaranteed)

Eye Black
No issues with spending 500k on a guy that’s had mlb success that they thought could turn into a useful pen arm.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Looking like the worst $750K Cincy ever spent. Yo's line tonight 1/3 IP 4 h 6ER 2BB. ERA stands at 5.40 on the season. No check that 54.00 on the season. I imagine he's going to be DFA'd tomorrow.

Gallardo lost his curve-ball and some velocity on his fastball.

He's washed up. Stick a fork in 'em.

And he's been released after refusing a AAA assignment. It's a distinct possibility the Reds screwed up in releasing him.

Check out this action from the Reds bullpen tonight.

I don't think the reds bullpen sucking means it's a mistake that they released a washed-up 32 year old Gallardo. I'd rather have a sucky bullpen with some young guys that MIGHT have some promise in the future, rather than a 32 year old Gallardo who is almost certainly done and finished. They're not competing this year, so I don't see any point in hoping to get something out of him. It's not like they're going to flip him for something at the deadline.
