Stephen Piscotty to Athletics

The Athletics will acquire outfielder Stephen Piscotty from the Cardinals for two minor leaguers, Jon Heyman of FanRag reports (Twitter link).

 

Shortstop Yairo Munoz and second baseman Max Schrock going to the Cardinals. I have seen Schrock play and am of the opinion that he is the type of gritty player that will terrorize the Brewers for years.

 

I guess this also takes Oakland out of the market for Domingo Santana.

Even with all the Cardinal hate in my body, I have to applaud the Cardinal front office for this one. Having a mother fighting a disease wears on you and being half way across the country for six months had to be amazingly difficult for Piscotty. Congrats to the Cardinals for doing the right thing here.

I think its pretty shrewd. Schrock is a good player that will promptly turn into the next Daniel Descalso or Brendan Ryan.

 

I know nothing about the shortstop, Munoz.
