Morosi just on MLB Tonight...

Said Marlins will only consider deal if they get Brinson in return.

And he said to keep a very close eye on us.

If Morosi is right then it sounds like Brinson isn't a part of the current offer, and the Marlins are holding out for him to be included. In turn that sounds like the Marlins are saying that the increased offer (which we've already heard will "sting") isn't enough for them...

If all of that is true, then it's starting to sound like too much to me...

Dubon was a bit of a letdown this year. It's possible he just doesn't hit enough at the MLB level to be a productive starter. He's still likely a future big leaguer, just more likely as a super utility/pinch runner type. Which has value. I just don't know if he is anyone's shortstop of the future. But like others have said he could bounce back.

Assuming he isn't dealt, I imagine Dubon eventually will replace Perez as the super utility guy, perhaps by the end of 2018.

A super utility guy who can't hit? No thanks.

premature celebration...

we have no idea what it cost us, so I can't be too happy until I hear how much this could be setting us back.

*nervous*

We will keep this thread open until it's confirmed but people might want to make new posts in the Major League Forum. Thanks.

Sounds like multiple sources are confirming so we will lock this thread. Discussion continues on major league forum.
