The Brewers have also signed:

OF Rafael Martinez

IF Joneiker Poncedeleon

No further details on these two yet.

I will forever root for this guy to make it to the bigs. Love that name!

Awesome name! Guessing it is actually Joneiker Ponce de Leon like Juan Ponce de Leon (explorer who “discovered” Florida for Spain)

Brewers signed RHP Mario Perez of Chihuahua, MX. He trains with Gonzalez Sports Academy, which is run by the family of Adrian Gonzalez & not affiliated with a Mexican League team. Teens associated with LMB cannot sign with MLB teams until a new player transfer system is in place.

The Brewers have added another prospect from Venezuela. Meet catcher Jhonny Cabrera. @mlbpipeline https://atmlb.com/2z1RZFF

Cabrera becomes the youngest player in the organization, born 6/5/2002. Though he'll lose this title in the next few weeks when Eduardo Garcia signs.

Haven’t seen any reports on what Eduardo Garcia got as a bonus. I assume around a mil as was with Fernandez and Jarabba?

I was out of the loop on the changes to the international signings when they happened, but it seems like we are really benefitting from them, correct?

Our strategy the last few years seems to be to pass on the higher end bonus guys and instead take about 3 who are sitting around the top 20 area with bonus money equivalent to a 2nd round pick.

Really excited to see how guys like Carlos Rodriguez and Pablo Abreu pan out, as it seems like we haven’t had a decent international OF prospect since Nelson Cruz (?!).

Wily Peralta & Orlando Arcia are on a very short list of signed & developed talents to be considered high prospects & reach the big. You hope with the continued push in the international market that we will see a lot more guys shot up the ranks

The Orioles are apparently on the verge of signing 22-year old Cuban Victor Victor Mesa, the top international free agent. Interesting how they went from not doing the whole International thing to signing the best player available. Mesa is likely to immediately be a top 100 prospect.

Edit: Now reports from Jesse Sanchez that he does not have a deal in place and hasn’t been declared a free agent yet. Also notes he is planning an open showcase for all 30 teams.

Edit #2: Marlins signed him.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Baltimore did just make a trade for additional international bonus pool money.

That's an interesting strategy - instead of investing in a lot of scouting, just take your entire pool and go after the top couple of guys, overpaying if you have to.

“So far, no new protocol agreement is in place. That means Fernando Villalobos, a 16-year-old lefthanded-hitting catcher with Mexico City who is Baseball America’s No. 34 international prospect in the 2018 class and was expected to sign with the Brewers, is among the Mexican players stuck in limbo.”

May lose Villalobos depending on how this Mexican League mess works out. All signings are suspended. Mexican teams were lying about percentage they were letting players keep. That factors how much a signing cost against signing bonus. Cubs signed kid for 1.2 million. 75% was suppose to go towards posting cost. That team lied & gave him 50%. So on record he was suppose to get like 300k, he received 600k. Cubs were allowed to go over 300k on any player
