Kidd fired

Just came to post that. It's all over Twitter.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski

Bucks made move on Kidd based upon dropping into the 8th seed in the East, frayed relationships in organization and general non-alignment, league sources tell ESPN. Bucks job will be most sought after of offseason, largely because of @Giannis_An34.

I figured he was closer to getting fired than most thought at this point but still didn't think it would come today. I'm happy with it but don't expect too much to change this year with his assistants taking over for now. Still, maybe they have wanted to try other things and he hasn't allowed, who knows. But I'm pretty sure they can't do worse than what he was doing. Get Jabari back and a big to take over for Thon and see what happens. I do remember when Kidd had his surgery that I thought the offense had way more movement, could have just been my poor eye test and dislike of kid seeping in though, but fingers crossed that they run a real NBA half court offense and tone down the hectic system on D.

There is no reason to believe that the bucks will get a good head coach to replace Kidd after how much ownership botched the GM search. Horst has done OK so far IMO, besides the Wilson pick, but you still need to get ownership to agree on one coach.

My preferred option would be Mike Budenholzer if the Hawks let him go otherwise I think the next head coach will be Doc Rivers. I don't think Rivers is going to last all that much longer with the Clippers and he is probably going to want out as they look to be going into a rebuilding type of mode.

Budenholzer is the coach I want as I think he could really turn this team around and make them better but I am not sure Atlanta is going to let him go. I am extremely confident in the Clippers and Rivers parting ways mutually as I don't believe Rivers is going to want to stay for a team rebuilding in LA when he probably won't be around at the end of that rebuild.

The biggest scare to me would be Rick Pitino. I hope the Bucks wait until the off season and pick a head coach because knowing these owners it is going to be someone like Pitino and that would just be absolutely awful for the Bucks to choose him especially for Giannis and Maker.

Another possible name to throw out there is Tony Bennett. I don't think he will make the jump to the NBA but he is another coach that I wouldn't mind the Bucks going after. Jerry Stackhouse is another but I don't think he has put in enough time yet to take over a NBA team. I really really really want Budenholzer as I believe he would be the right coach for the Bucks. His defensive system would fit right in and I think he could push Giannis and Thon to become better players. Offensively his a better coach than Kidd also and there are pieces that would work in his system in Milwaukee already. I just don't know if Atlanta is going to let him go but if they do the Bucks better jump on him as he will be the best coach available.

They're opening a new arena, Prunty isn't sexy. Unless he takes them deep into the playoffs, they'll bring in a new coach like Sam I Am.

I've honestly never even heard his name, and i'm fairly tuned in. Can't imagine what the general Bucks fan thinks of hearing he's the coach.

I dunno. I think he's sorta handsome.

If you have never heard of him, you are the general Bucks fan.

I think Cassell would be an awesome coach, I'd like for the bucks to get someone with experience though. I think if its the top job in the league this offseason, you don't have to settle for a rookie coach.

I know Stearns has our attention priority 1 right now but saw a rumor the Bucks are after Deandre again. Parker/Brogdon/Vaughn was the return that I saw. Not sure how I feel about that, not great unless Jordan is agreeing to an extension. We'd literally have no bench, just empty chairs.

Don't do that Jordan trade. Get a serviceable big who can defend the paint and rebound. No need to expend that much capital on Jordan, both in terms of assets and salary cap space.

But, then again, I absolutely knew that OG Anunoby was a better player than DJ Wilson, and yet somehow "professionals" liked Wilson. That does not inspire confidence.

I just don't like the idea of going out and giving up assets for a one-year rental when you're barely in the playoff race at all and that one player probably won't lead you to a Finals appearance. What's the point unless Milwaukee doesn't like the price that Jabari will command as an RFA and is assuming they'll lose him.

I'm more inclined to give up on the year and just see if there's a chance we can dump off the heaps of overpaid garbage we have on the roster.
