KM is a nice player, but not a star. He is only signed to one more year anyway. So you give up an above average SF with 1.5 years left, a below ave C with a bad contract, and a below ave PG on his rookie contract for 0.5 years of a player the fits exactly what we need (interior defense, rebounding) and free up a lot of money over the next couple years.

I have no idea if Jordan would consider resigning (nor for what price), but seeing what they could do with Giannis, Bledsoe and Parker (when healthy) could be very interesting this year. Certainly more of a playoff challenge than the current configuration.

I would say "yes"

No, please. I wouldn't mind having Jordan, but not at that cost.

That article is a joke. We have to give up Brogdon (ROY) AND Middleton with Henson but these other teams rumors are junk players? We better not make that deal. Give them Henson, DJ, and maybe a pick or hang up the phone unless he's got a pen when he gets off the plane for an extension.

Jason Kidd ordered his players to foul with 12 seconds left when they were up 4 points tonight.

His reasoning:

Reporter: "What's the philosophy of taking that foul at that point?"

Kidd: "They're trying to play the game of quick 2's to save their timeouts. So we'll just play the free throw game with them. I believe that my guys will make their freethrows. If they miss one, then it works. It's a free throw game no matter what. We wanted to send them to the line and it worked out."

He literally gave them the quickest two possible. I'm just done. I can't even fathom how he remains this teams head coach.

I guess he just believes in the team. Maybe it's good for them to have to learn to hit those clutch FT's before it costs them playoff games? I don't think I would have had done it if I was in his situation but I don't think its all that outrageous the more I think about it. Maybe I just think Kidd is a decent coach. Think back to the dumpster fire coaches we've had over the years, whether it was Terry Stotts, Larry Krystkowiak, LARRY DREW....Kidd is the best IMO.

Stotts has proven he's a damn good coach for years out in Portland. The fact is, in the NBA you actually need talent to win games, and the two years Stotts was here, he had virtually none. I mean, his second year they started Charlie Bell and Reuben Patterson the entire season.

There is 0 excuse for fouling up for with 12 seconds left. You make them score and stop the ball when they try to bring it up court. They are playing the clock in that situation.

3 counterpoints:

1) The Buck trade proposal comes from LA (which will lean towards LA). The others came from the other trading team (leaning away from LA)

2) The other offers included an unprotected draft pick from bad teams, which is probably the centerpiece of those deals.

3) If Brogdon's ROY increases his trade value at all, we should cash in. I like the guy and he seems like a good team player, but he is nothing more than a second tier starting PG or backup.

Also not to be ignored in the trade is the financial flexibility of it:

[pre]Year 2017-18 2018-19 2019-20

KM $14,100,000 $13,000,000 $13,000,000*

Hensen $11,422,536 $10,577,466 $9,732,396

Brogdon $1,312,611 $1,544,951 $10,000,000**

Jordan $22,642,350 $24,119,025*

Delta -$4,192,797 -$25,122,417 -$19,732,396[/pre]

*Player option is assumed to be declined and not included in the calculations.

**Approximate RFA deal.

We obviously have some issues with future financial flexibility. This would allow us to actually resign Jordan to a similar deal as his current and save $$ for Giannis coming. I'm not sure that would be enough to resign him, but it certainly puts us in a better playoff position this year. And next year a lot of money to find a center if Jordan won't resign. And I'm assuming Parker comes back and is able to approximate KM's production.

Negatives:

- PG depth is hurt. Small risk as long as Eric stays healthy.

- Offensive risk. Parker needs to come back quickly and produce similar to KM.

Positives:

- Center play (especially rebounding) is dramatically improved.

- Future flexibility.

I think Henson would have to be part of the deal. After that, to me it is either Brodgon or Middleton. If we lose them both, our depth will be nil. We need one to stay.

I am guessing Middleton has more value. I have to say his effort defensively is not consistent. There are moments where it is downright inexcusable. Plus, with his salary, I would be ok with Middleton and Henson for Jordan, if Jordan extends.

Brogdon can't score like Middleton but he can defend and does the little things that help you win. I think we'd take a step back kind of like we did when we let Jared Dudley leave.

Regardless, no way would I include both Middleton AND Brogdon.

Working out the salaries with Parker needing to be re-upped and Jordan could be dicey. Subtracting Henson and Middleton might help make it work.

If they trade for Jordan, I would wager that he walks in FA this summer and ownership lets him so they can extend Jabari and stay under the luxury tax.

I would assume that KM and Hensen have to be there to balance salaries. But maybe a 1st round pick is included in stead of Brogdon?

I would also assume that Jordan walks next year, but if Giannis/Bledsoe/Jordan hit it off, you never know if they might want to keep the band together...

No way you trade Middleton in any deal. Him and Giannis are top scoring duo in league right now. He is only starter who really stretches the floor. Not to mention he is long and great defender. Our big three with Giannis, Middleton, and Bledsoe has been unreal. I think when Henson, Giannis, Middleton, Bledsoe, and Brodgen are on the floor they are something insane like 118 for 100 possessions.

Overall Don't mess with a great thing. Parker should be back after All-Star game. He won't be what he was last season prior to injury (Has to get legs back under him and be comfortable in trusting it again) but offers enough shooting to create even more space on floor. I'd bring him off the bench with Brogden, Thon, and etc. Really give us more depth.

A center who plays the style that Jordan does would fit perfect and is really what we are missing. All our centers are very weak and not really great rebounders but not worth the price tag. I'd rather trade for lazy Noel for cheap with Mavs and hope he removes his head from..... Kidd usually is good at that and getting more out of guys. Tyson Chandler as well would still fit nicely for lower price tag.

Apparently NBA 2K17 messed up and released the 4th jersey.

can't get the image to show, but the actual uniform is much better than the rumored one.

Really like what the bulls did, incorporating the city flag. The Jazz, Mavs, and Hawks though are not good.

Wilson sent to the Herd. He needs to play. Good move.

Anyone else see the end of the game last night? Bucks up 3, Middleton with a FT coming, 1.9 seconds left. Cavs out of timeouts. He makes it, Bucks go up 4, game is virtually over. Kidd instructs Middleton to miss the FT on purpose (said afterwards he was scared of a 4 point play).

Cavs got the rebound and missed a 75 footer that would have tied it - albeit this is a huge longshot, but that would have TIED the game. ***???

Why not let him just try to make it. If he makes it, you can literally stand around on defense and watch. The odds of a four point play on a full court shot - well that player should be immediately cut for doing that. Granted, a 75 footer is an extreme longshot, but why even give the Cavs any sort of chance to tie??? If Middleton misses the FT, so be it, but to miss on purpose?? That's just flat out awful coaching.

These are NBA players, they should be smart enough to know that up 4, with 2 seconds left, to not foul to begin with.

Despite that, and blowing a huge lead, big, big win last night.
