Milwaukee Bucks 2017 - 2018

Outlander

Are there any other teams with four guys who can average 20 PPG? Maybe there is, and just not coming to mind, but the Bucks have them. And then Brogdon is a legit 15-18 PPG.

That's why it's dumbfounding when they go through stretches of 3-4 games where have trouble scoring. At this point, there is no secret. They need more intensity and toughness on defense. Not sometimes...all the time. And move the ball on offense. That iso stuff with Middleton and Giannis was really tough to watch.

Really comes down to this. Do they want to win, or do they want stats? Because with four guys capable of scoring a ton, something has to give. Honestly, I think once Jabari is back 100% I truly believe he could be the leading scorer if he wanted to be. Can these guys be team players enough to let the game come to them? Answer to that question will determine how far they go this season.

I just checked the NBA standings for the first time in like three weeks. Whoa. 8th place? This team is too talented to be doing this crap. A team with the Greek Freak has no business possibly missing the playoffs. Terrible.

Reminds me of those middling T-Wolves teams with KG...they lost in the first round of the playoffs SEVEN years in a row. Bucks are well on their way to matching that at this pace.

It was all Jason Kidd's fault, or so i'm told..................

They need Brogdon back. Some nice pieces as always but they just don't seem to gel together soundly. Doesn't help that Parker has been virtually nonexistent with G / Middleton since he was drafted though.

For a while I was thinking that Prunty may be able to coach himself into a full-time gig, but now I'm more thinking that a new coach would be good to just shake that Etch-a-sketch and start over next season. Plus Milwaukee is said to be the best coaching destination available in the offseason for already having a star and a new arena to work with. So Milwaukee will probably be able to get the best coach on the market.

What's frustrating is I don't think there's anything they can do in the off-season to make this team any better than it is now.

You just said it earlier, find the right coach. There is plenty of talent on this team, but they need a coach who can pound in to them how they need to play. I don't care if this coach is young or old. Experienced or not. "Players" coach or hard ass. Whoever it is needs to pound home intensity on defense and move the ball on offense.

It's the NBA, everybody wants their "x" number of shots per game and they're never going to reach the next level that way. The other day Snell hit three triples in the first half, I'm not sure if he even had a shot after that. There are games when Parker is red hot, and they don't feed him. You just can't have Giannis and Middleton in iso constantly.

I do think they can be a much better team with these same players. Heck, they've shown that in stretches this year. Egos and stats just need to be set aside, if that's even possible.

Man, Jennings 2 rebounds shy of a triple double in his return?!? Who would have thought?

Tied for the 7th seed but nobody is creating any separation at all. Still only 3 games out of the 3 seed. A good 4-5 game winning streak could still get them a home court series in the first round.

Spurs struggling to even make the playoffs?! Wow.

Jennings looked great. Just one game, and vs Memphis, but still fun to watch a true PG. You get no defense whatsoever, but off the bench I'm fine with that.

Giannis needs to get his mojo back, he's looked lost for the most part since the AS break. Of course his "lost" is still pretty good.

The Bucks remaining schedule is rather easy with only GS, Celtics, and Cavs being the hardest games left.

Of the 15 games left they should win at least 10 of them. Going 10-5 to finish the year that should put them at either the 4 or 5 seed.

The Bucks really need to get Brogdon back to do this.

Teletovic waived. Would be nice to have his $10.5M salary for next season available. Hell, between he, Snell, and Dellavedova the Bucks could have had $30M to spend this upcoming offseason.

This is why you don't sign marginal free agents to "market rate" multi-year deals.

I'm really impressed with Jennings. Here and there he's a bit off as anyone would be from a long layoff out of the game but he really makes plays this team sorely needs. Hopefully he works out here on round #2.

Boy this team needs a completely new coach. The entire offensive strategy is to let Giannis work one-on-one and either shoot or kick it out to a 1-8 Bledsoe or a 1-7 Snell. With Middleton shooting light's out lately, why are they chewing up all those shots?

#8 Seed here we come!

I get the sense there's a lack of harmony going on right now with this team. You see it in the body language. I don't know if Giannis and Middleton are battling to be "the man," if Bledsoe wants to be more involved, who knows. But there's something going on.

I've been thinking about what type of coach they need moving forward. Honestly, I think they may need a Skiles/ Bobby Knight type of butt-kicker. That doesn't last long in the NBA, but maybe that's exactly what they need for a couple years.

You need someone that runs a modern NBA offense with ball screens, passing, player movement, and 3 pointers over contested ISO long 2s. The of course someone to just instill some kind of respectable defensive system

They have that offense now. It's just that the players refuse to run it more than like 25% of the time. Xs and Os is the easy part, they need someone who can actually get them to do it.

I would assume that is part of losing the head coach. There isn't any real leadership at that point since everyone knows the guy in the "interim" seat isn't going to last.

The Bucks have three more years after this season to do something with one of the better players in the league. The clock is ticking and it will be very interesting to see how this franchise tries to surround him and actually win something.

I beg to differ. Their offense is high post isos and for some reason throwing the ball to henson at the elbow. Throw it to a guy with a height advantage 16 ft from the hoop and stand around. And a seemingly allergic reaction to shooting 3s. Pump fake that 3, drive in and shoot a contested 2. The opposite of modern NBA offenses.
