BF.net Fan Community Top 25 Prospects Poll - 2017 Post-Season Edition - Voting is closed

reillymcshane
Brewer Fanatic Contributor

It's voting time again.

We would like to invite everyone to take part in the 2017 Post-Season BF.net Fan Community Top 25 Prospects voting.

Please take time and submit on this thread your top 25 Brewer prospects. Feel free to list any resources or news that you feel might help people with their voting.

Voting begins October 18, and concludes on November 2, which will give everyone more than two weeks to vote. You can change your votes at anytime through November 2, so I recommend getting your picks in early. You can always go back and tweak your list.

RULES

1. Submit your Top 25 prospects, in order, by end of day on Nov. 2. Put the player's full name to avoid any confusion (such as Devin Williams and Taylor Williams). Numbering them is helpful - but not essential. Also, please list your players from #1 to #25.

2. You MUST submit 25 prospects. If there are only 10 or 15 or whatever, your list will not be included.

3. You are encouraged to go beyond pick #25 - adding a few more is great. That way if someone in your top 25 is traded or released, or if you mistakenly miss a number (not uncommon), or list a guy twice, or whatever, I can just bump up your next player(s) into the Top 25.

4. Rankings are determined by total points. The top prospect gets 25 points, second prospect gets 24 points, etc.

4. As noted above, if you submit your list and want to change something, just add the change to the thread. I'll accept changes up to the deadline.

5. Within a week after the deadline, we'll publish the new BF.net Community Top 25.

Eligibility guidelines:

Rookie eligibility is determined by the same standards as MLB:

“A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has (a) exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues; or (b) accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the period of 25-player limit (excluding time in the military service and time on the disabled list).”

- Ineligible players: Josh Hader, Wei-Chung Wang

- Eligible players with ML experience: Brandon Woodruff, Tyler Webb, Jorge Lopez, Adrian Houser, Lewis Brinson, Brett Phillips, Aaron Wilkerson, Taylor Williams

- Players eligible for free agency this winter: Nick Ramirez, Hiram Burgos, Jorge Ortega, Michael Reed, Yadiel Rivera, Yhonathan Barrios, Sean Nolin - these players would have to resign - or be added to the 40 man roster - to stay with the organization. You are able to vote for them if you want, but know that there is a chance they could leave.

Player notes:

- Josh Hader has not reached 50 IP, but he has passed the 45 day mark on the active roster. This makes him ineligible.

- Brandon Woodruff is eligible as he has less than 50 IP pitched and less than 45 days on the active roster.

- David Goforth and Michael Blazek have elected free agency and are no longer with the organization

Folks, please start voting for the post-season prospect poll.

If you have any questions about players - such as eligibility or whatever - please post the question in this thread.

Also, if you notice any errors in the original post, please let me know. I will update as needed.

Finally, I will update the original post if there is a change (such as someone is added to the 40 man roster or whatever).

The post-season poll probably won't deviate too much from the mid-season iteration, but that's okay. Hader and Wang are no longer eligible, so that will open up a spot. And we got some more exposure to the new draft picks.

Thanks for playing!

1. RHP Corbin Burnes - Sheer domination leaves no doubt.

2. OF Troy Stokes - Probably the most complete offensive threat in high minors (AA/AAA), likely to start in AAA

3. RHP Brandon Woodruff - His floor is Matt Garza 2016, which has about $12 million/year in value.

4. 3B Dallas Carroll - Looks like a Jeff Cirillo clone

5. OF Brett Phillips - .799 OPS in limited action in Milwaukee - Keon Broxton's ticket out of town

6. OF Trent Clark - Had the most walks in the entire Brewers organization

7. 2B/SS Isan Diaz - 62 BB in 383 ABs.

8. C/IF Gabriel Garcia - Bat is not a fluke, and versatile.

9. RHP Jordan Yamamoto - While everyone was excited about Corbin Burnes, he emerged as a solid rotation candidate

10. RHP Jon Perrin - Rebounded near the end of the season to post solid numbers

11. OF Lewis Brinson - Looks like he and Phillips will platoon in CF

12. RHP Bubba Derby - 3.55 ERA at Colorado Springs in 12 starts is Suter-esque sign of potential

13. OF Monte Harrison - Superb season and put it all together... but stuck behind Stokes, Phillips, Brinson, and Santana

14. IF Keston Hiura - High-average bat, but what is the position?

15. SS/3B/1B Jake Gatewood - Put it together, but where does he play?

16. 3B Lucas Erceg - The power is there, but what else?

17. 1B Ernesto Wilson Martinez - 14 of 36 hits went for extra bases, but posted 36 BB in 155 ABs

18. OF Jay Feliciano - Looks like a raw power bat

19. C KJ Harrison - Could be the best Brewers C since Lucroy

20. RHP Cody Ponce - Solid season, but others have more results or are closer.

21. OF Tristen Lutz - Showed some big numbers at Arizona, but I've been burned before by Rookie League success

22. C Cooper Hummel - Switch-hitter with pop and good OBP skills.

23. RHP Freddy Peralta - Not bad, but is he a starter or reliever?

24. RHP Luis Ortiz - Looks like a solid inning-eater

25. LHP Nick Ramirez - A left-handed pitching version of "Toolshed" Kieschnick.

26. LHP Wei-Chung Wang - Dominated at AAA bullpen.

27. UT Weston Wilson - Showed versatility and kept his bat decent despite shuffling between Appleton and Carolina

28. 1B Ronnie Gideon - 2017 was first full season of pro ball, and he was part-time in college. 2018 could tell the tale

29. OF Corey Ray - 2018 is make or break

30. RHP Nate Griep - Could make it easy to trade Corey Knebel in two years

31. C Payton Henry - Looks like a 3TO bat

32. C Josh Nottingham - I don't dislike some of his numbers, but Garcia, KJ Harrison, Henry and Hummel look to be better

33. LHP Drake Owenby - 1.062 WHIP, 11.63 K/9, and 3.32 ERA.

34. LHP Cody Beckman - 11.39 K per 9IP, 3.38 ERA

35. OF Demi Orimoloye - Like Raym faces make-or-break in 2018

^^^ Comically bad. It's ridiculous that it will weigh down the final numbers. Might be time to throw out the highest and lowest rankings on each player.

Give me a timeout, I'll accept it. That has to be trolling, a cry for attention, or both

First, I'll say that I have my issues with the lists that clancy submits and, frankly, I agree with what you are saying but at the end of the day he is entitled to his list. I guess you could argue that if he is entitled to his list then folks are entitled to criticize his list. I guess I just don't see the point and would rather folks just let him be like the crazy uncle at thanksgiving who spouts off about conspiracy theories. We all know the uncle is nuts, just carry on like nothing happened.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave
