It wasn't the first basemens ball to get.

Wake me up when something isn't CC's fault. You dont know Thames wouldnt have played rhat ball. In fact, he did the same thing earlier in the game.

No. He would have stayed home because the 1B had no business going after a ball that was just to the left of the second baseman.

I thought it was a little on both. Pitcher slowed up and the throw was a bit behind

Every part of that is completely wrong.

 

Replacing your everyday 1B with a part time 1B really makes no sense especially after Walker has botched some simple plays at 1B already as a Brewer.

No. He would have stayed home because the 1B had no business going after a ball that was just to the left of the second baseman.

 

Thames literally made a diving play earlier in the game that would have been right at 2nd for an easy out.
