Can't speak for teams, but as a fan I wanted us to lose as many games as possible at the end of last season to get as high a draft pick as possible.

 

According to at least one thread on this board a year or so ago, all the moves we were making were designed to tank last year and this year to get top draft picks, because that was the only way we would ever be a playoff-caliber team. I guess Stearns really blew that strategy. Better fire the guy ;-)
