Venezuelan Box --

Teammates excelled in a win, as 23-year-old LHP Frank Lopez made his first appearance since November 23rd, and it was highly effective, even with a big lead, coming in for the 6th and 7th of a 10-3 win (Lopez replaced a long, long ago Brewer draft pick and farmhand).

Aragua Bottom of the 6th

Pitching Change: Frank Lopez replaces Efrain Nieves.

Alberto Callaspo grounds out, shortstop Gregorio Petit to first baseman Jesus Aguilar.

Jose Vargas grounds out, third baseman Harold Castro to first baseman Jesus Aguilar.

Aragua Bottom of the 7th

Luis Villegas called out on strikes.

Leandro Castro grounds out, shortstop Gregorio Petit to first baseman Jesus Aguilar.

Alberti Chavez strikes out swinging.

Frank López did his job, had time that not throwing but was controlled, threw very well. I was happy that he gave us the two innings and was given the opportunity to make it in the form (translated tweet)

In the same game, Jesus Aguilar had a monster effort (two doubles, two walks, three runs scored), and suddenly his line is a more respectable .200/.382/.320 after eight games.

Started very soon, perhaps wasn't ready. I had to start on this date but the fever called me to play early. (translated tweet)

In other words, Jesus was itching to go :).

Little surprise we'll see Hernan Perez in Venezuelan box scores soon -- won the batting title last year.

Translated Venezuelan article --

Despite the Tigres de Aragua fall defeated 10x3 against the Leones del Caracas in Maracay, not everything was negative this Saturday, prior to the game, the aragüeño arena received the stellar visit of three players who hope to debut soon this year with the aragüeña troop, we refer to Renato Núñez, Carlos Tocci and Hernán Pérez who were involved in the practices of the felines prior to the game.

The arrival of Renato Núñez and Carlos Tocci was assured for several days for this weekend but the arrival of Hernán Pérez to the JPC was quite a surprise for his teammates who did not expect the infielder to join the team soon.

Núñez and Tocci were involved in pre-game training and batting practice under the watchful eye of the Tigres coaching group, as well as their strategist, Buddy Bailey.

Hernan arrived after the practice ended but this did not prevent him from putting on his training clothes to take practice with the hitting coach, Desi Wilson on the "tee".

It is expected that the additions of Renato Núñez and Carlos Tocci will be given in the Bengali roster for the ninth week of the championship, while that of Hernán Pérez could be taking place for the tenth week of the harvest.

The Venezuelan season began back on October 10th, so Perez will be in action by later this week or early next.

Latest translated quotes on Hernan Perez --

Hernán Pérez has been an impact player in the LVBP. Last season, after playing all year with the Brewers of Milwaukee in the Major Leagues, he was champion bat of the local leased circuit with .373 average. For being December, the super utility will not give him a chance to defend his crown (not enough plate appearances), he does not even know if he can be uniformed with Tigres de Aragua. However, it is not something that rules out.

"I'm training, getting in shape. I'm going to wait for the Winter Meetings in the United States, after that I'll make the decision to play or not here, "Pérez said. "This year I worked more on my body, I looked for more muscular strength. That has favored me when it comes to hitting the ball hard so that more home runs come out."

In fact, 2017 was his year of greatest power. He connected 14 homers and his OPS was .704. In addition, he defended almost all positions, even climbed the mound to throw. He just lacked being a receiver. "To be a utility, I prepare myself mentally," he said. "I know that playing in various positions will always open opportunities for me."

RHP Junior Guerra -- 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 81 pitches, 52 strikes

Junior is going to be a fascinating name this spring -- it all comes down to how his stuff is looking, K's aren't there in Venezuela (19 in 35.1 IP), yet the results are fine (3.82 ERA), Guerra will likely get several more starts based on the lower MLB workload last summer.
